Title: Steve Miller
Post by: wesfau2 on July 21, 2016, 12:15:28 PM
Oddly, I've somehow managed to never see this guy perform live until last night.  Solid show, non-stop hits of course.

My nephew wanted to see the guy (he's recently started playing guitar and is in his "classic rock" phase) and it was his first concert, so I splurged for the kid.  A fucking Benjamin to see the Space Cowboy?  Each?

Shame on me (and the other 5-7K people there) for paying (only for the aforementioned reasons) that much to see a guy that really should be on the county fair circuit.

Steve claims to hold the record for performing the most times at the Fillmore West.  No idea if that's true.

I'm just glad to see a lawyer get rheemed out of 200 bucks that should've been 50. Even if he does make 200 bucks in 20 minutes.

Glad that Steve fucked Wes and made him like it. Fucking lawyers man.

Wish I had known about this.  I might have taken a big 'ol jet airliner and flown like an eagle down there faster than you can say abracadabra.  Bet Steve was happy to take your money and run though.

In other news I'm going to see Heart, Joan Jett & Cheap Trick for a $20 groupon. Not bad for 3 Rock & Roll hall of flamers.

I saw both Heart and Joan Jett while at Auburn.  That was back when there was an actual debate over whether Ann or Nancy Wilson was hotter.

That's an awesome lineup.

Can only vouch for Joan, though.  She's still rocking at 60 something.  Her audience will skew heavily lesbian.  They actually served as quasi-security during Joan's show at the Destin Seafood Festival and kept the knucklehead quotient to a minimum.  Kind of a reverse Stones/Hell's Angels thing.

I'm pretty stoked about seeing heart and drinking some craft beer.
