I won't be surprised to see someone take the blame. Cam Robinson was just in the car. Didn't know there were guns in the car. Thought he was just going to smoke some J with his buddies. Tried calling his mom to come pick him up because he knew what they were doing was wrong. The cops busted them first. Saban will teach him right from wrong.

The other guy was Hootie Jones, who was more than likely going to be a starting DB this season. Robinson is looking at a mandatory 1 year sentence for the possession of stolen firearms charge. If you read between the lines, these guys were out there slinging dope. I think that Robinson will be gone. Or, at least should be given the situation. Jones might scrape by because technically he only got charged with weed, but still, they were out there doing what they were doing.

I think our resident Token Bammer can address that part. But I think you're correct in saying the amount determines whether there's an automatic intent to distribute attached. However, I imagine that would have been spelled out in the initial charges.
We had our own similar incident years ago. Forget the name. Supposed to be an all everything LB from Opelika if memory serves. Got pulled over. Weed and a gun found. I think Tubs suspended him for a year. Was that the case or have I been smoking weed?

Saban said the program's investigation will be done in private.

A handful of players have been arrested in last few offseasons. Most were handled internally without suspensions carrying over into the next fall.
Saban explained his strategy for dealing with off-field issues.
"If we can change their behavior based on what we do, that would be the purpose of discipline," Saban said. "Discipline is not necessarily just punishment, which a lot of people view it that way. It's how do you change somebody's behavior so they have a better chance to be successful.
"That's the way we've always done it. That's the way we always try to do it. That's the way I like to do it with my own children. I think that's the way most parents like to do it with their own children."

Jails are over crowded and are basically being used for violent crimes now. When lifetime felons catching new charges barely get 90 day sanctions, I wouldn't put a lot of faith in a first time offender getting jack shit. Aside from a fat signing bonus on draft day.
Cam will get nothing, they'll send him to a few schools in bad neighborhoods to tell his story of what happens when you are "in a wrong place wrong time" and he'll start against the Trojans. Auburn fans will ridicule Alabama fans, Alabama fans will say "Scam stoled a laptop" and that will be the end of it until someone from Auburn gets arrested. Then the Alabama fans will call Paul talking about thug environment.
