Did any of yall stay up to watch the roll call of the states last night? Not that it really matters but what the hell was the deal with Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Oregon casting some votes for Ron Paul? Then Utah cast 2 votes for Mitt Romney. Politically tacky I thought.
What made it somewhat humorous to me though was Rep. John Boehner (the Convention Chairman) and the Convention Secretaries ignoring the votes for Ron Paul but calling out the 2 votes for Mitt Romney when Utah's delegation had the floor. They then mis-counted the votes for Ron Paul when the votes were announed at the end of the count (giving him only 5 of the 12 or so votes that were cast for him). I think that the Arkansas delegation opposed the motion to make the vote for McCain unanimous. Of course they were overwhelmingly voted down.
Just some parliamentary observations...

i watched it, just because there is usually some sort of humor factor in what the rep from each delegation chooses to say. I don't think the slight to Ron Tin Foil Hat Paul was deliberate - I just think the recorders had not been briefed on and therefore had no idea what to do with a non-unanimous vote.

Cool. Glad I'm not the only one who stayed up to watch that parliamentary procedure; I too enjoy hearing each delegation ham it up for their state.
The parliamentarian(s) did seem somewhat taken aback by the Ron Paulers and at least in the case of Oregon (I think) the delegate leader was very tentative in adding the Ron Paul votes.
The Texas delegation looked like they were ready to raise some hell after the convention; very prominent in their Stetsons!

Yeah, I guess that Rick Perry is still the Gov there; slipped my mind. I was living in Rockwall (just east of Dallas, but you probably know that) in 2000 & 2001 when he became Governor after W became President.
