Our defense looks weak, I don't mean scheme wise, I mean really weak, getting run over, their running backs dragging our players.  We haven't applied any real pressure to their QB?

Yeah we aren't aggressive enough up front on either side of the ball.

Guess I'll just go over here and read the creed, trust the Gus, close my eyes, cover my nose, and swallow like I'm supposed to do according to the "real" Auburn fans. Been hearing that all week. They must have known how this game would go.

We are struggling with SJS.   We have had two turnovers and a long kickoff return and we have 14 fucking points.

I am no coach, but I would put a spy on #7 and make somebody else beat us.

It's not our QBs fault we can't make reads...we don't require it, can't teach it and we're too fucking smart to allow anyone else to try.

How much will we have to up Gus' contract to keep the Redskins or Giants from snapping him up this off-season? I'm thinking we could to to $5 mil a year and he'd be happy enough to stay. I mean, he's got it rolling here but I know the allure of the NFL will be hard to turn away from for him.

Might get to a bowl if Lawson were to come back and the team rallies around his energy. As it stands though it looks as if we will be physically manhandled by 4-5 on the schedule barring some sort of miracle.

Considering our D gave up 30+ in 7 out of their past 8 games, I'd say there has been improvement. So far that's only happened 1 in 5 games this year. If Carl comes back and we can get a pass rush going again, we have a chance to be decent. We are going to have to play alot better "no doubt" but almost every team on the schedule has shown the ability to shit the bed. I by no means believe we can win 10 games. Yet there isn't any team we should fear. As ugly as it was at least it wasn't JSU ugly. Hope we can do some serious adjusting during the bye week.

Positives:

The D held a decent offense to 21.  Forced several turnovers and basically was the difference in the game.

I thought it was a good move putting McKinzy at more of a stand up DE.  He's 250+ and may be somewhat of an answer for getting some pressure in the backfield.

Some very young guys have been getting a ton of experience. I'm not holding that out as an excuse.  Saying it because it's a fact and there's some guys I'm looking forward to seeing what they can/will do in the future.  Kerryon luggage continues to get more touches and looks more confident each game. Cowart made a few things happen on D. Carlton Davis is taking some lumps as a true freshman corner, but you can tell this kid is a balla.

Barber was his consistent, hard running self. Nice to see him break one and barring injury, he'll get his 1,000..  I thought he and Roc both looked good.

Countess surprised me on the opening kick off.  Good speed.  He and Rudi should be handling all return duties from here on out.

Put it on the ground a couple of times but for the most part, real good ball security.

It was a win.

Negatives:

Play calling, first and foremost.  Very uninspiring.  That worries me more than anything else with this team going forward. It really looks like they went into a shell and acted like we're going to do the bare minimum to beat this team.  Sean White was 6-10 for 109 yards.  We have very talented skill players all over the field and they are making almost zero attempts to get them involved.  No slants.  No digs.  No crossing routes. It's either some form of bubble screen or heave it long. Not calling for JJ to return but why even replace him if all you're going to do is hand the ball off 90% of the time?  Tubber Tuckerville can do that just as good as SW can.  Really head scratching.

While the D did play hard and was very opportunistic with the turnovers, they were very soft in the middle.  Yes, that 170 pound back was shifty and quick and hard to get a good shot at.  But they were blowing us off the ball and it was 3-4 yards past the line of scrimmage before we'd get a hand on him.  What that did in turn, was allowed Borges to open up the play book.  He made some really good calls, but he was able to when we had to respect the run so much. Don't know how or if that can be fixed.

Or shitting the bed. That's why we play the games.
Your "short slants" jab didnt go unnoticed earlier.

Yes any team can shit the bed but we appear to be a bad matchup against run teams that can complete enough or anybody that can beat JSU/SJSU. Most also have seasoned lines and athletic secondaries as well OR as the past has taught us, they feast on Auburn when we are in miserable/unexplainable mode.

Hey we might just steal one. The two above came close enough for our liking.

Positives:

The D held a decent offense to 21.  Forced several turnovers and basically was the difference in the game.

I thought is was a good move putting McKinzy at more of a stand up DE.

It's as if Gus is trying to prove something to the offense which refuses to respond...like training an insolent child. You know we have so much more in the bag. And I'm okay with Gene Hackman going all contrary to make them understand your way is the big picture but that shit should have been put to practice long ago.

Motherfucking hell...

Some of you bitches -- not calling names -- are the most negative motherfuckers I've ever seen in my life.  One or two of you need somebody to lay an orange and blue ass whipping on you.

I'm going to go ahead and agree with you bf the entourage wakes from their slumber.

Given their running game was going good, you got to see some of Al Borges at his best.  A lot of shifting and innovative formations. They got in a rhythm several times and kept us off balance.  They used one formation several times that got them the first down on that slant when they went for it on 4th.  They lined up 3 WR in kind of a triangle close to the end on the right side.  It's pretty much a pick play with the back guy running the slant from behind the front two receivers.  Almost impossible to defend in man coverage.

That had a lot of 04' flava.

Borges was the best coach on the field yesterday, and it wasn't even close.

Because some of wonder how the hell we go from a 2013 team that was dominate at the line of scrimmage, with play calling that used that as an advantage, with players that seemed to care, to what we are seeing now only one year removed with a better coaching staff?

I wear orange and blue sun glasses, but I also see a team across the state that is constantly winning, always ready to play (win or lose) and wonder why we have one up year then we got to have one mediocre and then one shitty year. I have no problem being bad its going to happen but I am a big boy just come out and tell me, don't put much so bullshit in the coach speak and sugar coat it.

Simply getting on a message board and half the time trying to make jokes about our poor play doesn't make anybody less of a fan. You can question my football knowledge, I ain't the smartest mofo, but I am an Auburn fan.

Guess that dispels the old adage about two heads...
