LAKE BUENA VISTA, Florida -- Jordan Colbert believes Auburn's future is bright.

In fact, he believes the incoming 2015 recruiting class will help put Auburn back on top of the college football world.

After missing the first practice for the Under Armour All-America Game due to a paperwork formality, Colbert was happy to join fellow Auburn commits Kerryon Johnson, Richard McBryde, D'Anfernee McGriff, Bailey Sharp and Darrell Williams on the field Tuesday at ESPN's Wide World of Sports Complex.

"We're just starting the dynasty early," said Colbert, who is rooming with McBryde this week. "Getting around the guys, rooming with them. We're around the same area in the hotel. it's just a good opportunity to get with my boys.

"We're fixing to be a real dynasty."

The safety and outside linebacker from Griffin, Ga., committed to the Tigers in April and says his recruitment is a "done deal." The confidence he exudes regarding Auburn's future comes from a combination of the 2015 class and the program's recent change at defensive coordinator.

Colbert was originally recruited at the Star position in Ellis Johnson's defensive scheme, but is now projected as a free safety under Will Muschamp. There has also been discussion about Colbert playing at the wide receiver spot, if needed.

"I want to bring that thump coming from free safety," he said. "That's the mindset I've got. Coming in, bringing that thump so I can get on the field early.

"Will Muschamp's a great hire. That's a double boom -- Coach Muschamp and Coach (Gus) Malzahn together. They're real good. We have the offensive guru and the defensive guru. A lot of people know how that's going to go."

Colbert is still getting to know Muschamp, and plans to spend the Jan. 16 weekend on the Plains with him and Malzahn. Outside of the upcoming trip, he doesn't have any other visit lined up.

He plans on spending the rest of the week playing hard and recruiting elite players -- like defensive end Byron Cowart and linebacker Jeffery Holland -- to come with him to Auburn.

"When we get to Auburn, we want to stay close, be a family and get another natty," he said.

Just read some quotes from Holland saying Muschamp now puts the good guys in the lead for his services.
