Title: Here's a question...
Post by: Godfather on October 07, 2014, 01:15:30 PM
One that Chizad will probably like.  (BTW I don't know the answer, I am assuming probably not)

Has there ever been a team face a #3 ranked team twice in a season?

When we beat Miss. State this weekend.  (by 2 TDs, thats right I said it) assuming Ole Piss runs the table up to us we will face #3 and then #3 again.

My skreets (wild assed guess) are saying that Ole Miss loses to A&M this weekend. Maybe even LSU two weeks later. So I don't see it happening.

LSU better get a shit ton better before those skreetz are gold.

Shitload of talent. Just a matter of time before it starts playing ok. Time is their enemy right now.

I don't see them losing to LSU, but it is highly likely that the Aggies gig them this weekend.. However, Notre Dame will beat Free Seafood U in 2 weeks, which will make our OM matchup a potential 1 vs 2 if they can avoid laying a turd in College Station.

I just think both the Mississippi schools had better enjoy this week, because I think both of their carriages are about to turn back into pumpkins this weekend.

The Corndog and his ilk have been muttering this very thing since Sat night. But I think they win over the gusty Gaytuhs.

Well, duh.

I honestly don't think they're as bad as everyone, including LSU fans, seems to think. They'll win a couple more.

Agree....they are extremely green. The NFL draft has not been kind to them in recent years.

Beating state by 2 td's wouldn't shock me in the least. I think that we are 2 td's better. But the 30k illegal noisemakers that the overall wearing rubes will clang incessantly in their overbuilt high school stadium.

This game is strikingly similar to Bama's last week. Ironic.

Hopefully, the big win over an overrated A&M team plays into our favor with a hangover.

I don't see Prescott running it down our throat. We can plug the middle and make them throw. He is good at the back shoulder stuff down the sideline and Reed won't be able to defend that but we clamp down in the red zone. I think kicking will play a big factor in this one.

I gotta say that I am just not worried about this game for some reason.  I think they score 24 on us and it doesn't bother me in the least.  I just don't feel like they can hold us anywhere close to 24 points.

I can't see MState getting up for a third huge game in a row.  It's time for a let down in Starkville.

Here's how I see the SEC:

Tier 1:
Auburn Stands alone.

Tier 2:
Ole Miss, MSU, Bama

Tier 3:
LSU, Texas A&M, Arkansas

I don't think any of those third tier teams are incapable of beating anyone they play. I think there's a lot of parity in the west.

FWIW, I think the entire East is below the West's Tier 3. If I had to keep going with the entire SEC, it would be:

Tier 4:
Georgia, Missouri

Now begins the awful teams that I would give a 0.00% chance of beating anyone in the entire West.
Tier 5:
South Carolina, Florida, Kentucky

Tier 6:
Tennessee

Tier 7:
Vanderbilt

I think the only SEC team Tennessee beats is Vandy, but it's enough of a gap to put them both in tiers to themselves.

I think Kentucky might beat LSU.  Other than that pretty spot on.

As much as I want to ride the Gus Bus up Hype Hill, I don't think you can legitimately claim us above your Tier 2 schools until we've actually played and beaten one.  Hell, 5 days ago a lot of folks were still concerned about Auburn's abilities after struggling to pull away against what, a Tier 8 or would that be Tier 9 school?  Even when we did it was due to scoring off a few ill-advised throws.

We skrong, yes, just not sure how skrong. But we beat MSU Saturday and I'm in full agreement.

edit: I don't care how true it may be in the Mullen era, that bolded part will always feel strange to me.

Slightly altered from Chizadskins.

Tier 1:
Auburn

Tier 2:
Ole Miss, MSU, Bama - I'd almost drop Bama to 3rd tier. They bama and they got talent so 2 is fine.

Tier 3:
LSU, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Georgia, Missouri - I think UGA and Arky may be best of this group. Yes, even though Arky lost to Aggy.

Tier 4:
South Carolina, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee - were all neck and neck with each other in round robins.

Tier 5:
Vanderbilt - no explanation needed
