Title: Homecoming Saturday and other games
Post by: The Six on September 27, 2014, 02:56:35 PM
Auburn vs La Tech.
Do we hit 300 on the ground today? I think so.

The Vols have given Richt's Dawgs a fit today but Gurley took over to put it out of reach.

I read somewhere you can buy tickets to Duke at Miami for $8. That's crazy town.

Oh, anyone think the Hogs can get the Aggies today?

Nine up for UT. Mason struggling with forward pass. The Fightin' Worrley's are hangin'.

Note: Stop Gurley on first down and Georgia becomes very average.

As a unit our offensive line has been a disappointment. We engage but get little push. Several West units are playing better right now and we need to fix it quickly.

Same ole same ole. Marshall can't throw worth shit. So we run, essentially the I, right up the gut.

The middle of the field is open quick with Duke, but captain shaky legs can't set his feet long enough to deliver the ball.

And he is running like a sissy.

Johnson can run that well except he can throw the damn ball too.

Very frustrated with the lack of understanding and lack of awareness by NM right now.

We can't hang our hat on the ground game and finish teams off like last year. And it's not Artis-Payne, he runs very hard. The receiver's are missing blocks when that was once a strength. How much of that is Sammy being hurt and Duke under performing is debatable but we have too many foolish holds on the perimeter as well.
We currently lack identity unless one wants to call behind the chains big play strikes against inferior talent an identity. It looks of desperation though, and it is very frustrating I agree.

This was one of the most underwhelming 28 point wins I've ever watched. A win is a win, and 2 years ago is still a fresh memory, but it appears we are regressing as the season moves along.

Another sleep walking game, another victory and another game where I muted Jesse Palmer with his dumbass statements.

Auburn has finally become the team that I've wanted for a long time. Auburn can look like shit nearly the entire game and still beat the shit out of a team they're suppose to beat the shit out of.

Btw, Arkansas got shafted on that aTm TD pass in overtime (should've either been illegal shift or false start penalty on the aTm WR that caught the TD pass).

For the talent level and returning players yes, this team is shitty and have little hope of finishing unbeaten and at this juncture of the schedule we might lose several unless that offensive line stops going through the motions and gets a serious mad-on and we block better on the edges.
Last year they knew we were coming and could not stop us. Hell we can't get around the corners anymore.
We aren't testing the opposition with short to intermediate routes to loosen things up because we are too busy bombing. I guess we wake up when it's too late.

I don't think its CAP.

I think its a combo of NM and the OL. The timing is off. The reads are off. Hopefully this will shore up more as season goes on. But it is a slight worry at the moment. Good news is, the D looks decent - and thats without Whitehead and Lawson.

Yeah, who would have thunk it. The D being as nasty as it is, I am pleasantly surprised.  On the other hand, I just think the OL needs it's right combo and will be fine. Again,  let's see how the teams plays this week. This would take away from the sleep walking theory and show if it is truly a problem and not just motivation.

Really. Throwing the deep ball as compared to throwing for first downs with the potential for a big play just doesn't make sense to me.

I say that knowing that we shouldn't depend on the home run rather than a consistent, sustained drive.

It doesn't matter if Ole Miss beat them by 3 points or 35.  Alabama is still going to beat Ole Miss.  And no matter what, you're going to be the first one here to tell everyone how bad Ole Miss is and the REAL test for Alabama is going to be whatever other team.

Sorry to tell ya, but Ole Miss is not a "real test"...not sure if you've actually looked at y'all's schedule, but the "real test" will come in the Iron Bowl, like DJ stated...meanwhile Auburn will have already had their "real tests" starting this weekend against LSU. So LSU is a "real test" when we play them at home, but not when they play them in Baton Rouge?

FWIW, I think the next two weeks (Arkansas & A&M) will be "real tests" for Bama.

I don't think it'll be enough for them to win (probably), but I think it ends up being about a 1 TD game.

As do I.  I'm curious to see how they respond when Amari Cooper isn't running wide open down the field.

I think this weekend is really interesting.  Ole Miss isn't good enough to beat Bama.  But home field advantage?  Some good talent on defense?  Gameday's there?  A pivotal point in Freeze's career?

This is ripe for drama.

He's gonna get some. You just have to limit it. and you have to go ahead and put a safety over the top and try to play man on the other side. Better to give up a few yards than the bomb to him.

Cooper is a beast. I'm not denying that, but I believe the Kentucky WRs beat hargreaves up pretty badly too.

I never said he was the best I ever dun seen. I just said he looked like the best player in college football so far this year and at 25-1 to win the heisman, it is decent odds for a legit longshot. I don't think that a WR will win though. Too inconsistent. Has a WR ever won?

And I agree with you about Alabama/Ole Miss games.

That's right. 30 years ago was the last time huh? Last WR's to win were from media darlings Notre Dame and Michigan? After 30+ years a WR from a media darling is breaking records under a OC that has turned the tide? Seems like an interesting storyline for a WR to break the trend huh? I like the 25-1 odds even more now.

Yeah, I was curious to where that was said as well. People can honk Gurley's knob all they want but Cooper is better right now. Cooper will have all the west teams to go through before its all over so I don't think he will keep this up. But neither will Gurley. Bobo and Marky Mark are going to run him into the ground.

Of course.  An LSU team that lost to MSU and is starting their true frosh backup QB at Jordan Hare.  Sorry, but this is probably the least scary LSU in the past 5 years.  Not saying that Ole Miss is particularly scary by any means.

Was just watching some of the Ole Miss/Memphis game at lunch. The Racist Black Bears moved it in the first half but kept shooting (Bo Wallace) themselves in the foot.  I know it's Memphis...improved this year...but still Memphis.  But don't sleep on the Black Bears. They get after that ass on defense.

They have a pretty good defense, but it's still Ole Miss.

No doubt.  And Bo Wallace will find a way to turn it over at least 5 times...because he's Bo Wallace. But at least he cut his hair.  So there's that.

Oh, and while you bitches are being far less than fabulous, I just got passes (For the second half) to a buddy's box suite. Sweet!!!  Mooching off rich people for 2nd half box suite passes.  How cool is that?

So, you're going to leave your suite and hang out in somebody else's?  #richpeopleproblems

I specifically hate people who get on the internet and talk big. Talk shit. Big shit talkers. I can sit in a box any time that I would like. Do I get on here and boast about this? No.

No one cares about you and your gay friends in the box.

If it's a close game, I hope you walk all the way up to the box, only to be turned away by security. 1% boaster.

I can't do that to her...

I still can't believe someone could be selfish enough to marry a bammer on one of the biggest football weekends of the year.

Get on my level, brah.

That's pretty much what I do every game I go to.

I think this week I'll be watching from the tailgate though, cause I have as of yet not received my invite from said rich folks.

It's like you know the 2nd half of people.

50% is good for him considering he is 0 for testicles thus far. Even in Chizad math, thats still 0%.
