Jauntavius Johnson will head back to Auburn this weekend to participate in the school's Big Cat Weekend.
Johnson already has a scholarship offer from Auburn, but plans on competing during the camp anyway. His main goal, though, is getting to know the coaching staff better and continuing to explore the school's campus. The 6-foot-4, 320-pound defensive tackle previously visited the school for a February junior day visit and came away impressed.
Johnson has already heard plenty of talk that he'll end up at Auburn -- his 247Sports Crystal Ball is 100 percent to Auburn -- but he doesn't give out any clues when fans ask him about it.
"I just say 'Thanks,'" Johnson said. "I'm going to go with what my heart wants."
Johnson said his heart wants a place that feels like home.
Which places meet that criterion? Auburn and Alabama.
Auburn, Alabama and Southern Miss were a few of the schools that stopped by Lincoln High School to see Johnson. What they saw was a powerful interior defensive lineman who keeps getting stronger and smarter.
"He has the most punch I've ever seen out of a high school kid," Lincoln coach Brad Wallace said. "What I mean is when he comes off the ball he can do pretty much whatever he wants to the guy in front of him."
Johnson will put those skills to test June 14 when he competes at one of Alabama's summer camps. The three-star prospect, according to 247Composite, hasn't explored Alabama's campus as much as he has at Auburn, but said it was a "great place."
After taking in visits to Auburn this weekend and Alabama in June, Johnson hopes to make a decision before summer ends. Wallace believes Johnson is down to Auburn and Alabama and really likes both of those schools.
"I tell him all the time 'When you figure it out, go ahead and do it,'" Wallace said. "No need to have that on your back all the way through the summer and through the fall.
"He likes Auburn, he likes Alabama. He's going to try to get to know his coaches to make his decision."

I would hope that the fact that we have Zero! DT's committed in this class and an elite DL coarch will help land this little fellow. And then maybe small fry can grow some.

Jauntavius Johnson is the latest in-state prospect ready to announce his college decision.
The 6-foot-4, 320-pound defensive tackle will announce his college decision on Wednesday, Aug. 4, according to Rivals.com. Johnson is expected to choose from Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State, Southern Miss and Louisville.
Johnson previously told AL.com that Auburn was his top school after visiting for Big Cat Weekend. Lincoln head coach Brad Wallace previously told AL.com that his star defensive tackle was down to Alabama and Auburn.
Johnson has kept a low profile, but many experts expect him to pick the Tigers. All of the predictions on his 247Sports' Crystal Ball page have him headed to Auburn.
Johnson would be the first defensive lineman in Auburn's class of 2015 if he commits to the Tigers next week. Wallace raved about Johnson in a previous interview.
"He has the most punch I've ever seen out of a high school kid," Wallace said. "What I mean is when he comes off the ball he can do pretty much whatever he wants to the guy in front of him."
Johnson has played on both sides of the ball at Lincoln, but is projected as a defensive tackle at the next level.

Also saw where we're in the running for Martez Ivey, a 5* D-lineman who plays with AU commit, Chandler Cox. He's a life long Gaytor fan and most think he'll wind up there, but he just spent 4 days on the Plains and said we're definitely in the mix.

Montravius, Dontavius, Jauntavius and Montavious..........some confused announcers in the future.

Even though he did it to the Tahd, just sooo not a fan of the hat switch. It's so 10 minutes ago and there's no reason for it. Don't mind a kid having his 15 minutes of fame. I get that, but just announce where you're going and talk about the reasons for your decision.

That boy got a big ole melon. Holy cow!

Does his dad have any eligibility left? Tony Siragusa says he is a big dude

Do. Not. Like. Not even against the Turds. Ok, maybe a little, but not really.
Or maybe especially against the Turds. We are better than them.
But welcome to the Fambly anyway.
