Right now early reports have this as going to be an expensive trip for the common fan person.

I may just come back to Auburn for the game.

I may just come back to Auburn for the game.

I've seen more Auburn fans talk about the price of the game than Auburn fans talk about going to the game.

I think the huge Iron Bowl ticket prices and the SECCG prices will put a dent in our numbers at the game.

Although, I've been around some of the money people at Auburn.  They seem to grow it on trees, so I'm sure they'll bring plenty of people.

uat fans feel like they've been beaten again after their bammer media gave them hope...and I wouldn't have it any other way.

The Greatest Iron Bowl in History - uat fans go on a killing spree after their hearts got ripped outta their chest. (AU 34 - uat 28)

SEC Championship Game - uat fans that were pulling for Missouri, again, had their hopes crushed. (AU 59 - Mizzo 42)

Big 10 Championship Game - uat fans that were pulling for OSU, so that Auburn wouldn't get a chance for the BCS Championship, again, had their hopes crushed. (MSU 34 - OSU 24)

Final BCS Selection - uat media gave their fanbase hope, again, those hopes were crushed. (1. FSU .9967, 2. AU .9638, 3. uat .9061)

Here's to hoping that trend continues...and like Wench stated it all changed in a second.

Can't help that we made a cross-country trek pretty recently and this bowl is in a much pricier zip code.

Gotta say though I am trying my damnedest to make it happen.

Already booked flights and accommodations.  Now one of you fuckers needs to find me some reasonably priced tickets.

I will be present for the final BCS game ever played. In the Rose Bowl.

I may be selling a pair of tickets. Depending on your definition of reasonable. Depends on if my more "reasonably priced" tickets come through, and I can sell the ones I already broke the bank for for what I paid for them.

Still have a couple of options to exhaust to try and get tix at face value, but I'm not optimistic.

Still, face value tickets aren't really that reasonable anyway (almost $400), so I guess "reasonable" is pretty vague right now...

Same. But if I get these at this price, I will turn around and sell my "Plan B" tickets for what I paid for them. That damn "Right To Buy" shit killed my wallet.

Damn.  Seems like I remember there being a ticket issue when the turds played out there  when they played Tejas in 2009?

When looking at capacity I think you are looking at the record capacity.  The standard capacity without a bunch of bleachers being brought it is about 95k

I may not make all of my money back for the tickets I reserved, but I think y'all may be a little optimistic.

Maybe I'm Updyke-esque, but if it takes me going broke, I'm just going to have to go broke. Pasadena. The Rose Bowl. The last BCS game ever to be played. Auburn in a National Championship, which until three years ago, I thought I'd never see in my life. I'm not missing out on any of these unless/until we truly do become a dynasty and we're at our 5th or 6th one in my lifetime. Even if that happens, I'll go to the sites I haven't already been to.

Jordan Hare's got a capacity of 87,451. Iron Bowl tickets weren't going for peanuts. Gotta believe FSU fans will be filling out about half of the stadium.

By all means, try to get them for face when they're released. I expect them to sell out within 8 hours, max. When they do, they're not going up on StubHub for face.

Right now (surfing all sites) Game tickets are going for $525.00 upper endzone to $1600.00 and more as you get closer to center. Flights (out of Dallas) to LAX are around $625.00 per person and I even haven't started on hotels yet. I budgeted  $5000.00 for this and will easily pass that if we want to go.

We're in for about $800/person, which is flight from Bham to Vegas and 2 nights in Pasadena (staying at a house in Vegas one night before and after 4 hour road trip).

I'm still reluctant to pay more than $400/ticket due to the exact reason you mentioned -- they will be found around face value at the venue if this year is anything like the last 4 BCS championship games.

A lot of upfront money to go there without tickets. If I was by myself (Godfather trying to save me money) yea I could do that, no ticket just go to a bar with AU folks.

The money involved has me thinking about just going back to Auburn for the game. Local bar and toomers should we win.

I know the argument about once in a lifetime, being there is magical and so on. I understand that. If I had that kind of money that grows on trees than yea its no problem, BUT common folk like me have to take into account the overall dollar cost.

I'll say this, too. If you went to Glendale, I can see how you can rationalize sitting this one out.

If you didn't...sell your plasma. Make about 3 deposits to the sperm bank a day. Dallas, yours should go at a premium. Or hell, sell it to VV. He's buyin'.

If you will give me $100 bucks and meet me at Jordon-Hare, I'll put on a number 21 jersey and run like hell up and down the field and you'd never know the difference. Especially if you are drunk. I'll even get a friend to announce "Touchdown Auburn!" over the PA for an extra 50 spot.

Heard a lot reports about people getting there (bought tickets) and no tickets were there for them.

At 53 that could kill me.

I also take into consideration spending that kind of cash for one game (yea I know its the game) or using that money to attend many games next year. I am in a no win situation, wait to see if ticket prices come down which means Air-fare goes up and hotel rooms get harder to find.

I was about to say. Come over here to the ATL, 150K is a joke to a lot of these folks.

So glad we are in it, just wish it was in FL or LA. I joked with my wife that I could drive down and sleep in the back of the truck for one night. She laughed. I wasn't joking. I'm not so good and think so highly of myself that I could not camp out for one night to see the Tigers play. Well, I probably would pull the camper down. But still.

Some things are worth it.

There's just no way to swing Pasadena kind of money.

Just ordered 2 tickets from Auburn using TUF priority.  $325 each.  Unfortunately, I went to the game in 2010 with my dad, so I'm letting my brother go this year.  I'll be watching this one at home.

If they end up not going, I'll sell them to one of you suckers for the bargain price of face value.  Will know in a week or 2

So do you think the "Auburn section" not sold through Auburn is 5-12 or 24-19?

My thinking is the team's probably on the bottom sideline, which makes me think 5-12.

But then the fact that they're selling Section 25 and not cutting off at 26, which would have made it an even quarter, makes me think 24-19.

Thoughts?

So do you think the "Auburn section" not sold through Auburn is 5-12 or 24-19?

My thinking is the team's probably on the bottom sideline, which makes me think 5-12.

But then the fact that they're selling Section 25 and not cutting off at 26, which would have made it an even quarter, makes me think 24-19.

Thoughts?
Looks like Auburn's section is 1-4 & 25-28. FSU has a few extra sections but they're a lot smaller...all their sections are in the corners of the upper deck box area.
The grey area is for important people that have lots and lots of money...I'm guessing Chopper will be in the "Grey Sections".
I'm not sure where the bands will be, probably outside the stadium having their own championship band battle.

No. Those are the seats that you can only get through TUF or being faculty or a student, etc.

I'm assuming FSU is doing the same with sections 11-18.

My question is, is everything in between just going to be a hodge podge?

They went on sale at 10:00 CT. 8:00 PT.

Either way, I'm hearing a 0.00% success rate based on what I've seen.

Buzz Kill time.  I believe we are now 93.6% certain we're going to pass on this one. Reason for the decision?  I'm as passionate about Auburn footballz as anything in life, but I'm also to the point of being tired of getting raped over the colds...just because they can.  I love to take me some trips and don't mind spending the $$$ to do so.  Had a trip planned to New York for last week.  Been once and loved the place.  Always wanted to go during the Christmas season.  Canceled when we couldn't even get a Days Inn by the airport for less than $600.00 a night.  "WTF?"...I axed the travel agent.  Because they can, I was told.  The day after Thanksgiving, everything in NY goes up 300%.  They can because people will pay.  Not me!

I've spent the last few days since Sunday looking at a dozen different packages to get 3 peeps to Cali for this game.  I've talked to a dozen or more people trying to do the same.  It's not happening for less than $6K.  One person said they were looking at flights yesterday and found one for $800.00.  Went to another site to compare prices.  Went back 15 minutes later and the same flight was now $1,500.00. Suck me you pirate ass bitches.

I'm sure some of you have found sweet deals.  I'm sure they're out there.  I don't care to play the game anymore.  I'll do what we did in 2010.  Throw a MNC party, hopefully celebrate and fall in my bed.  Then I'll take half the money I would have spent on this grossly overpriced jaunt across the country and apply it to a week in March, hitting 5 tropical islands with Royal Caribbean.  And I'll wear Auburn gear, drink til I puke and have a bitchin' tan.

I had 2 computers, one firefox and one chrome browser on each, with my wife on the ticketmaster app on my phone.  Refreshing starting at 9:55, submitted immediately when the page came up it timed out for a few minutes and came back sold out.

Bet those fuckers only had 20 tickets that that weren't selling as part of their $2000 VIP package.

Can someone splain how Ticketmaster got these and why they would offer them at face?  Asking because I really don't know.  Another question.  Just what is scalping?  (Besides what those damn redskins did to our cowboys and white women)  Genuine kwerstion.  How does someone get arrested outside a stadium for selling tix for more than face value, while it's perfectly fine to put them on Stubhub for 5X face?

Ticketmaster was the provider.  2. Scalping isn't illegal everywhere.  It is illegal in Florida but not in Alabama.

Saw an article where a Bama season tix holder was issued a citation for selling tickets at face value, because he didn't have a business license.  A different issue altogether but I imagine just about anyone could get popped for that in most any jurisdiction if the po-po wanted to be picky.

There was a site at www.bcsbus.com (http://www.bcsbus.com) that was selling spots for $85, but they filled up the first day.  Started with 6 buses and kept adding them due to demand -- new spots were selling out within minutes of being added.

We skipped out on that because we wanted to stay in Pasadena the night of the game rather than returning to Vegas that night (even though they were allowing coolers and shit).

I think there are a few other bus charters still selling though.

No, dummy.  You fly out of Alaska a lot cheaper on Alaska Airlines.  All you have to do is drive to Anchorage and you can get a $178.00 round trip flight to Las Vegas.  From there, you simply rent a car and drive the 250 miles to Pasadena and then drive back to Vegas after the game and your flight back to Anchorage will be waiting for you.

All this man wants for Christmas is a job - and he'll give you BCS Championship game tickets to

Erin Edgemon

on December 12, 2013 at 11:41 AM

A southern California man is attempting to use the frenzy over securing tickets to the BCS Championship game between Auburn and Florida State to secure a little something unusual for himself.

In a Craigslist ad posted on the site’s Auburn page, Erik Shuman claims he has two real tickets to the game in Pasadena, Calif. to give away to someone who can offer him a legitimate full-time job.

Shuman said in an interview with WTVM in Columbus, Ga. that he knows it is a bold move, but tickets are hard to come by and someone with the power to give him a job could be in need of a pair.

"Life is so at times structured where you have to do things differently, have to make it exciting,” he said. “And the thought to do something like this because if you're looking for a job and I send a resume to you, what are you getting a trillion other ones and realistically you aren't going to look at it. But this way it's an incentive for people to give me a look or people come to me where normally that might not happen, so it's being different.”

In the ad, Shuman says he has a MBA and extensive experience in writing, management and marketing.

He would prefer the new job to be in southern California, but for the right job he will move.

All replies to his offer will receive his resume and references upon request, Shuman said.

FWIW, tickets went down to about $650 each two days ago when people got theirs delivered.

They have been steadily rising since. I've been checking every day to see how fucked I got.

I still could have gotten them cheaper right now, but the margin is closing rapidly.

Flocking to Pasadena

AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn sold out of its allotment of BCS National Championship tickets in a matter of days. Total Sports Travel quickly sold all of its Auburn BCS travel packages.

All the seats on a fleet of 24 buses that will haul Auburn fans from Las Vegas to Pasadena and back on gameday have been bought.

Make no mistake about it, Auburn fans plan to paint the Rose Bowl orange and blue on Jan. 6.

“We’ve got the best fans in college football, and they are in it with us.  We’re all in this thing together,” Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said. “That’s the great thing about Auburn, and I’m just happy for them, our players and our program.”

Auburn’s total allotment of 22,100 tickets, the same given to Florida State, were quickly snatched up by donors, season ticket holders and some lucky students that won a lottery.

A total of 8,950 students put their names in the hat for 1,500 tickets.

Total Sports Travel, which partners with Auburn and eight other SEC schools, has sold all 1,800 of its Auburn BCS Championship game travel packages.

Seats on the BCS Bus, organized by Birmingham pharmacist Patrick Greene and his wife, both Auburn graduates, were snatched up at a furious pace.

“Within 24 hours, we’d sold eight buses,” explained Greene. “We added another four buses and they sold out in four minutes. We ended up being able to bring in a total of 24 buses, and we sold out all 24 in 72 hours.”

Greene has had to refer many Auburn fans to Starline bus company, which has reportedly lined up seven buses for the gameday trip.

Greene, who organized a similar four-bus charter to the 2010 BCS Championship game while still a student at Auburn, points out several advantages to busing from Las Vegas including cheaper airfare and hotels.

“You have a professional, insured designated driver,” he said. “We can tailgate on the bus. We’re allowing personal coolers up to a certain size.”
