Here's the thing with V & G. I've never minded Gary so much. He's very straightforward in his analysis. He's toned it down a bit over the years but used to be almost brutal. Verne has got the voice for it but what used to piss me off so bad was he couldn't get anything right. Mispronounce names. Wrong down and distance. Almost blatantly obvious he didn't do any research on the teams he was calling.
Then the soulja boi deal with them dancing. And Saturday night? "Oh noooooo....." Frick him in da' mouf. Hard!!! Watched the replay last night and heard that call. My jaw dropped. The Georgia announcers weren't even that biased in their call. Now, they get to do another Iron Bowl? I'd rather be on ESPN 2.

As much as I hate Verne (and the Oh No pretty much burned the last splinter of the bridge, fuck him hard), I wanted 2:30, as I will be on a plane to Aberdeen, Scotland at 8:30 that night. The 6:30/6:45 ESPN kick would have killed me.

Yeah, I don't mind the 2:30 start and again, I won't have to listen to them anyway. The bad thing is not having enough time to do the whole tailgating thing properly and soak it all in, especially with a game of this magnitude. The good thing is the 2 1/2 hour drive home that wouldn't be completed until 1:00 a.m. if the game started at 6:00. Got back to the house at 10:00 Saturday night. Much mo' bettah.

I ate both of those about 10 to 12 years ago without know what they were. Once I found out I was "hmmm, that was actually pretty good." I have only had one chance to get back to England and Scotland since and made it a point to have a healthy portion of each. They were still as good as I first remembered.

I hope that every living AU fiber in JHS expects to win this glorious game. Should we be o.k. and proud of our team if we don't? Absolutely. BUT, we should expect a win.

I've spent a good bit of time over there. Not my favorite place to eat. you really have to find the foreign specialties. if you love Indian food, that is the place to get a curry. Same with Tai. But homegrown dishes are just not that flavorful. Breakfast *minus that blood shit) was the best meal of the day.
The one really good food was the fish and chips, minus the chili sauce.
Anyway. I'm glad the Wench gets to see the game before her flight. That flight makes for a tough next day.

I was on a business trip to Ireland this time of the year a few years back. The dark, cloudy, cold short ass days did make me wish I was WW on the torture table.
The locals (from what I remember) were extremely nice. A wide selection of beer choices made the nights go by faster.

I thought /r/cfb would enjoy how seriously Auburn fans are taking this. Auburn fans do NOT want Alabama fans getting hold of student tickets, and are taking some pretty hilarious steps to do so.
The Auburn Ticket Exchange is a facebook group for Auburn students to negotiate ticket prices, buy and sell, etc. Tickets go on a student's "ignited card," which is swiped at the gate (although anyone can use anyone's card) for entry. Buying a ticket from a student (if you're not a student) involves borrowing their ignited card (for a deposit on the card). Anyways, moving on from that.
it's getting real up in the ticket exchange.
In response to Alabama students attempting to join the group and/or messaging members of the group, the group is now "closed."
Anyone on any University of Alabama network was booted from the group, and this is checked daily.
The group quickly bans any member caught selling tickets on the Alabama Ticket Exchange... permanently. If they're not a senior, they're going to have a tough time ever selling a ticket again as a result.
Oh yes, it's Iron Bowl time, and the insanity has definitely already begun.

If the chalk holds and No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 Florida State stay unblemished between now and the first weekend of December, the two college football heavyweights will meet in Pasadena for the BCS national championship.
Alabama's presence in this discussion isn't shocking. The Crimson Tide have won two straight BCS titles, three of the last four and have asserted themselves as the first true college football dynasty of the BCS era.
Florida State started the season 11th in the AP poll and 12th in the USA Today coaches poll and has worked its way up into position to play for the title.
Which team has a better resume?
The Seminoles, according to Alabama head coach Nick Saban.
"If you look at the whole body of work," Saban told Michael Casagrande of AL.com, "and the way they beat people, they're arguably the best team in the country right now. And they weren't that way when (Jimbo Fisher) went there, so he made a significant amount of improvement."
So what's Saban doing here? Playing coy? Providing motivation to his own team? Pulling a "Lou Holtz" and talking up his opponent?
All of the above, really. And he's right to do it.

Alabama has earned the benefit of the doubt in the public eye by consistently winning at an elite level, which is a big reason why the Crimson Tide have held down the No. 1 spot in virtually every human poll since the start of the season.
But Florida State's body of work through the lens of this season is incredibly impressive. The Seminoles are winning games by an average margin of 41.6 points per game and have the nation's fourth-best total defense (271.4 yards per game), second-best scoring offense (52.7 points per game) and third-best scoring defense (11.1 points per game).

Sure, the team's schedule isn't anything to write home about. But what the Seminoles are doing to opponents is incredibly impressive. In years in which a team wasn't the midst of a dynasty, it would probably earn them a few more first-place votes from voters.
Alabama is no slouch either.
The Crimson Tide boast the nation's fifth-best defense (272.8 yards per game), the top scoring defense (10.2 points per game) and the third-best rush defense (91.1 yards per game).
Simply put, Alabama and Florida State have separated from the other undefeated teams in the country and are remarkably similar in terms of team defense, talent level and offensive efficiency.
