In case you missed the game last night Iowa State was leading Texas by 6 with about 1:34 left to play. Texas was on the ISU 3 yard line and rushed the ball. ISU stood the player up and appeared to rip the ball out of the players hands. The whistle blew to stop forward progress but it was clearly after the ball had been ripped out of the runners hands. The officials upheld the ruling on the field which was no fumble.
Here is the play:

Now I get Rhodes being upset but Iowa State had multiple chances to win that game, they outplayed Texas all night. Texas however has the luck of bama.

All hat.

Agree. Was a bullshit call. On paper Iowa state should be nowhere in Texas' vicinity in a ball game. Even though they won, it's still a fail for Texas and they are still as screwed up as ever.
Also to note, Iowa state was driving down the field for the winning fg with less than a min left when their qb went full tard in Texas territory, and decided to hand a Texas DE the ball.
Texas sucks.

I had no dog in the fight but went to bed mad as hell at that call. Even in real time, the whistle doesn't blow until the ISU player has the ball tucked and heading the other way. Agree with Corch Roads 100%

Had to make sure the Red River Rivalry still attracted viewers next week.
-
ESPN said pfffttt. It's a non-story.

I watched it last night. Was complete garbage. Texas = Bama.
The NCAA, ESPN, the conference who pays the officials, and everyone in a position to do so has to give them every possible break to ensure that all is right in the world and the "traditional powers" get any helping hand they need to stay relevant.
They should be 2-3 right now.

It's starting to really feel like the media is keeping the "traditional powers" on top and unscathed because of money. I have more reason to believe that college football is a fixed boxing match where the top investors make the coin than I have reason to believe it is a fair sport with equal opportunity for all teams.

Sad but true.

Same I was pissed for ISU. It wasn't just that call, but several other questionable calls as well.
Could it have been any more obvious that Pollack and Palmer were rooting for Texas?

Actually I liked Pollack in the booth. I thought he pretty much called it like he saw it, made me laugh a couple of times. I didn't find he was pulling for Texas, he was bashing them for playing like shit and saying that they are Texas they should always beat ISU it shouldn't come down to the wire. (I think he is right)
IMO Mack Brown should have been fired on the Tarmac after that game. Mac Brown used to be a good coach but he needs to be gone. There is no reason Texas should ever win less than 10 games. IMO Texas is the #1 job of all time...there is nothing but talent in that state, combined with the money they get = easy pickings. JR4AU could get 10 wins in Texas every year.

Was flipping back and forth to the beis'bol games until about midway through the third. He seemed to agree with every call that went their way. Now on some of those I agreed, but some were horrid. Anywho, fuck Pollack. May he choke on a dick.
FS1 needs to get some new announcers, I only caught the 2nd half of the Utah/UCLA game, but I wasn't thrilled with them. It was probably b/c I was pissed at the outcome of the other game, but they were nerve racking.

A few of us were watching it at work last night and we all thought it was very clear. The ISU guy was like 10 yards away heading the other way with the ball before the whistle blew. Even in real time we all caught that because we were like HOLY SHIT THEY'RE ACTUALLY GOING TO WIN! The replay solidifies it. Watch the line judge entering from the bottom of the screen. He doesn't put his hand up to signal the play is dead until well after the ISU player is heading the other way. Granted, ISU shouldn't have had like a million PI penalties to give Texas the opportunity to score, but they still got hosed.

No, but I do work in a room with eight 42" flat screen TVs and monitors, so needless to say, it comes in handy during football season.
