FWIW, here's the company line:
You'll almost never see me give a Barner the benefit of the doubt. But here we have 2 similar cases, each with its own particular demons. The Barner smoking herb was using an illegal drug which is a pretty serious offense even if it was only weed. And to the Barner idiot below who pointed out that drinking and driving is much more dangerous than smoking weed, I guess he assumes that the Barner toker never smokes and drives? Be that as it may, alcohol is legal and getting drunk is legal. The only error Geno made was to drive after drinking, which while it is dangerous, it's not as if it isn't a national pastime. And before any you hypocrites say anything else, you better be damn sure that not even one time in your pathetic excuses for a life you ever drank a beer and then drove. The only thing I have to say against either one of these guys is that doing what they did does not show the type of discipline a championship football player needs. This Bama team has too many players screwing the pooch as far as I'm concerned. It's starting to give me an anxiety attack. RTR!

YUP...If it was a Auburn player, they'd use his mug shot...uat player, they'd use the media guide picture where he's in suit and tie (probably from ttown menswear).

Just a guess but it's likely the herb smoker would have been turned loose at the scene if possessing less than a half ounce, whereas .04 (relatively 1/2 a beer) will land a minor in jail for underage consumption of alcohol in Alabama.
*A "tidy" arrest can ignore other contraband and factors present in order to keep it simple.
