Virginia governor GOP candidate Ken Cuccinelli launches website that pushes for reinstatement of state's anti-sodomy law

BY ADAM EDELMAN / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

The conservative Republican candidate for Virginia governor has begun advertising his efforts to reinstate an archaic and unconstitutional state law that make consensual oral or anal sex acts illegal.

Ken Cuccinelli, locked in a tight race for Virginia's top office, launched a new campaign website Wednesday that showcases his attempts to bring back the state's "Crimes Against Nature" law, which was struck down by federal courts earlier this year.

The law makes consensual oral or anal sex acts felonies, even for married couples who commit the acts in the privacy of their own homes.

Cuccinelli's new site, vachildpredators.com, highlights 90 people identified as "sexual predators" in Virginia who "would come off Virginia's sex offender registry if a Virginia law ... is not upheld."

In March, a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals deemed the law invalid in connection with a 2003 Supreme Court ruling that struck down anti-sodomy laws across the country.

Cuccinelli unsuccessfully attempted to challenge the ruling, taking the case to the full 15-judge appellate court and asking the Supreme Court to step in.

The website goes on to state that the law would only be applied "to sodomy committed against minors, against non-consenting adults, or in public," but the law itself states that "if any person carnally knows in any manner any brute animal, or carnally knows any male or female person by the anus or by or with the mouth, or voluntarily submits to such carnal knowledge, he or she shall be guilty of a Class 6 felony."

Polls show that Cuccinelli is running neck and neck for governor with former Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe.
Seriously, we're trying to make blow jobs illegal? In this economy, we need all the jobs we can get...

And if he and she both do it at the same time, it will be a Class 69 felony?

Except he's an elected official. Literally passing laws to push his warped moral beliefs.

You're describing what is probably 90% of all politicians.  They push their own beliefs, no matter what side of the aisle they sit on.  This is just one of the dumber beliefs by one politician.

Dude I fail to see why you are up in arms about it?  You're married now.
You don't get any of that shit enough to warrant the concern about it being illegal.

Clearly this is Ken Cuccinelli's problem. His wife won't suck his dick, so by God, we're gonna make it illegal for anyone else to get their dick sucked.

You may actually be onto something.

Actually he's not elected yet hence the descriptive "candidate"

He's atty gen running for governor. What's sad is aside from this issue he's a pretty solid candidate. Fiscally he's spot on.

Now, are we gonna be fair and talk about some of terry mcauliffes crazy views, stances and scandals he was involved in when he was BFF with the Clintons?

I lived one district over from where Cynthia Mckinney kept getting reelected.  Pretty much squashed me from ever voting Dem or Green.
