Title: I'm Finally Tired Of This Shiot
Post by: Snaggletiger on January 11, 2013, 11:53:17 AM
I don't hit a lot of sites besides this one, teenboybareback.com and al.com for updates from time to time.  I'll copypasta the occasional article but as I was telling AU1 yesterday, I'm getting fed up with a lot of this shit.  al.com has been doing write ups on AU/UA recruits and lately, the top 15 in the State.  Yesterday, they did one on Earnest Robinson.  The first sentence was a question posed to ER.  Is there any way you would not sign with Auburn?  They go on to mention AU's horrible season, then tell us that Robinson played in two All Star games but should AU fans be concerned because he didn't make a catch in either one?  They finish by making sure everyone knows he's going to take more visits.  To be fair, they did list his stats.  Damn fine write up.

Today, Mr. Liner.  Let's see...He committed to Auburn BUT.....

Then let's make sure and tell everyone he's keeping his options open....then quote Tidesports.com

He has offers from....

"Initially" he was optomistic about Auburn...

Finally...make sure everyone knows that he was suspended.

Question.  What would this article say if Dee Liner was an Alabama verbal?

MUSCLE SHOALS, Alabama -- Dee Liner is one of football recruiting's great mystery players.
The Muscle Shoals defensive tackle committed to Auburn in June, but he could land anywhere. Liner (6-3, 270) has kept quiet for the most part, but did tell the media last week at the Under Armour All-American Game that he was keeping his options open. Earlier this week, he told Tidesports.com that he planned to visit Miami.

Liner also has offers from Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas and Southern Cal, among others. Initially, he appeared optimistic about Gus Malzahn's hiring, posting on on Jan. 4 on his Twitter account, "Just got off the phone wit my new head coach! I Feel a whole lot better about everything! WDE!!"

He tallied 72 tackles, including 23 for a loss, and added an interception as the Trojans rose to the No. 1 spot in Class 5A and advanced to the playoff semifinals. He missed one game due to a suspension.

Initially implies that has stance has changed...but nothing more was ever mentioned.

Horrible write up...

The fact that most of AL.com's front page stories are often regarding bammer football instead of actual real state news tells you all you need to know about the journalistic prowess of the newspapers in our state. I want to say the front page story a couple of months ago was Robert Bentley's thoughts on bammer losing to A&M and what playcalls he would've made differently to win the game over Nick Saban. If that isn't the biggest pile of media horseshit and waste of font I've ever seen, I don't know what is.

Also: there's a heavy media bias in this state towards the trailer ridden cousin humpers than AU. I think just the academic/scientific accomplishments of AU alone warrant better coverage than Saban midget love articles. I think some of the so-called "journalists" in this state need to feel like they contribute to the bammers to accomplish any sort of feeling of self importance & vicariously live through the midget himself.. and if you ask me, I'd say a group of statements like this is borderline booster illegally recruiting a potential football player.. but god forbid anybody do something about it.

Exactly!  Then there was this:

Is it news to report that anything can happen prior to the LOI being signed and faxed?  Or is there something you know that you're not telling the reader?  Maybe you like just throwing shit in there because you read it on a bammer site?   Is he not still an Auburn commit?  Is he the only one taking other visits?

Also, something that I've noticed the past two years, they would always quote the recruiting site that listed the uat commitments the highest and Auburn's commitments the lowest. I remember one article was talking about three uat commitments and Al.com used 247 Sports for two of the prospects and Scout for the other. If you don't know, 247 Sports is owned by a bammer (Shannon Terry).

Let's bump dis bitch.

Last night, a banquet was held honoring the top high school players in the State.  The Alabama Sports writers cast their votes and the player named "Mr. Football" in the State of Alabama is none other than Carver Wolverine and Auburn commit, QB Jeremy Johnson.  #winning :aubie:

So, I'm looking for stories on Auburn football and go to good ole al.com.  The FIRST headline that comes up under Auburn Football doesn't say, "Johnson named Mr. Football"....or anything remotely similar.  Nope.  For your viewing pleasure, I copypasta the following headline under Auburn Football on al.com

Does Jeremy Johnson deserve to be Mr. Football? The case for Johnson and runner-up ArDarius Stewart (poll, video)

Ima gonna giva you three-a guesses where Mr. Stewart isa committeda.  Oh, and the first two guesses don't count.  Instead of congratulating Jeremy Johnson...instead of talking about his career....instead of talking about his future at Auburn....we're going to ask "did he really deserve it over an Alabama commit"...and conduct a poll.

Hey al.com and 90% of the media in this State.... :fu:

Jeff Sentell | jsentell@al.comEither guy would have won Mr. Football any other year going except for about 6-7 exceptions over the 31 years. The same goes for Winston and Yeldon last year. The years that Julio Jones, David Palmer, Andre Smith and Cadillac Williams won, among others, are those exceptions.

Slight population. Lots of great players being produced of late. That should tell you something about high school ball in Alabama, folks.

I voted Stewart in a close call. Here's why:
1) Career acheivement of 138 total TDs
2) His second straight 50-TD season
3) He played both ways and eight different positions in a game
4) Johnson did not go both ways.
5) Stewart's 350 yards rushing and seven TDs in the second round of the playoffs to knock off a previously unbeaten team was a Mr. Football moment.

The fact he played 2A ball and he was measured against a 6A kid for the award was a factor in the 170-168 final vote total.

Thank goodness the other guy that is loose with his sexuality is going to turdville then!!  NTTIAWWT, but still... Maybe he is the guy that Sani predicted will have a relationship with Saban and get caught...

(For GF's benefit:  I understand full well what he is trying to say but that is still funny...)

Minor hijack, but is it not ironic that Todd Bridges, he of the hardcore crack addiction who was once tried for the murder of a drug dealer - is the last man standing.

Quote
Now the sole survivor of the show's core cast -- Dana Plato committed suicide in 1999, and Gary Coleman died after falling down a flight of stairs in 2010 -- Bridges says he'll miss the man who was his surrogate father both on and off the screen.

I guess Mrs. Garrett doesn't count since she left them to go hand with them snooty bitches who wanted to learn about the facts of life.  She's still alive and kicking.
