At this time of the year, when the roadblocks come up with great regularity, I would like to share a personal experience with my closest friends about drinking and driving.
As you well know, some of us have been known to have had brushes with the authorities on our way home from an occasional social session over the years.
A couple of nights ago, I was out for an evening with friends and had a couple of cocktails and some rather nice red wine.
Knowing full well I may have been slightly over the limit, I did something I've never done before; I took a cab home. Sure enough, I passed a police road block but, since it was a cab, they waved it past.
I arrived home safely without incident, which was a real surprise as I have never driven a cab before and am not sure where I got it or what to do with it now that it's in my garage.

I bet if you go out this holiday season, you'll be looking for an empty cab.

I am not afraid to call a cab if I've been drinking; it's worth every red cent compared to a DUI and jail time and a blood-sucking lawyer (no offense...).
-
This is great advice. Lawnmowers, golf carts and bicycles have let me down thusfar.

Mama needs some new shoes and he wants her to go barefoot this Christmas.

For the last several years on St Pats Day, I have called a wrecker to take me and car home.

I haven't been on a vacation in days. We do have a cruise booked for February. My daughter is dancing/performing on Royal Caribbean. Leave from San Juan, Puerto Rico Suave and stop each day at different Saint islands. St. Marks...St. Lucia...St. Bernard...whatever. Thanksgiving day, we were skyping with her and she was at cabana bar on St. Lucia...in a bikini....having a Pina Colada for Thanksgiving dinner..with the ocean about 30 yards behind her.
Batch!!

When did you stop caring?

Does the rolling of the waves affect her moves on the pole? Where does she hide the dramamine patch?
-
The best thing to do is, when you see the lights for the roadblock, turn in the first driveway and go the other way. It works every time.

Srsly? So...if you don't actually make it to the road block...technically...they can't stop and check you?
:brilliant:
