Rumored VP Shortlister Jindal to Fundraise With Romney
By Emily Friedman | ABC OTUS News – 1 hr 36 mins ago

BATON ROUGE- He's rumored to be on Mitt Romney's vice presidential short-list, but Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal has yet to hit the campaign trail with the presumptive GOP presidential nominee.

Today he will toe that line, appearing at a high-dollar fundraiser for Romney in at the City Club in downtown Baton Rouge, where a handful of reporters will be permitted access, albeit barred from taking photographs.

The last time Jindal and Romney saw each other was at the high-profile donor retreat hosted by the candidate's campaign in Park City, Utah, where Jindal participated on panels and delivered remarks.

But that was closed to reporters, who are hard-pressed to find photographic evidence that Jindal and Romney have ever actually been in the same room together, unlike other potential running mates such as former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty - who has appeared with Romney several times during his bus tour last month at events in both New Hampshire and Pennsylvania. Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, another rumored VP shortlister, also accompanied Romney on the Ohio leg of the bus tour. Even Florida Sen. Marco Rubio held a joint press conference and town hall with Romney.

A few weeks ago, Jindal joined Pawlenty on their own bus tour of sorts, bracketing President Obama's bus tour stops in Pennsylvania and Ohio. Jindal has also conducted several interviews that served to promote Romney's candidacy, doing Sunday morning show rounds for several consecutive weeks.

Jindal, who previously backed former presidential candidate and Texas Gov. Rick Perry, endorsed Romney in April, just hours after former Sen. Santorum suspended his presidential campaig

Jindal meets a couple of the key critieria needed - minority and southern. The Indian voting block is NOT terribly huge though (like black and latino are) and most Indians in the US tend to be conservative hard working business minded people anyway so I am not sure how much is being accomplished picking him.

Personally I think he's great. I still say he needs to pick either Allen West or Marco Rubio for obvious reasons. The black and latino vote being swayed 1 or 2 % points because of either of these guys in states like Florida could be the difference. Allen West would also rip Joe Biden (and his boss) a new one.

I like Jindal too and think that he'd be a phenomenal choice but I think that Romney is going to pick someone more conventional and 'white-bread' like Tim Pawlenty.  If he picks Jindal, Rubio, Christie, or another "exciting" candidate I'll be very surprised.  I really think that he's going after someone to appeal to mid-westerners in swing-states like Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, and Iowa.  Rubio would be an excellent choice if he can deliver Florida.  Romney has got to win that state too; I think he's got a significant edge elsewhere in the South including North Carolina and Virginia which the Republicans lost in 2008 (The Pharaoh is spending a lot of time there which tells me it's a bleaker picture there for the Democrats than the polls are telling us.)

Personally, I think the biggest and best splash he could make would be Marco Rubio.  Jindal seems like a sharp cookie though, who would make a great VP.

I like Rubio the best, Rice coming in second.

Jindal got hammered for that horrid "Republican Response" speech he made two years ago after the State of the Union.  he was dull as dishwater and totally lifeless.  Typically when a VP choice is a younger man than the Pres, the VP is being set up as the heir apparent.  I don't think Jindal could be the man in 8 years.  Rubio, however... He is young, energetic, and appeals across the board - whites and Latinos anyway.  And Condi - she is a freaking bonafide genius.  Her biggest problem is that she is not married - think about it.  The constant speculation about her sex life, the lack of a Second "Husband", who she takes as an escort to state dinners - I know that is hardly a reason to knock on her, but it would be the same for a single male VP - if he takes a different woman to every function, he's a hound dog.  If he has the same girlfriend for a while, he is living in sin by having sex and not being married - it is a no win proposition for anyone other than a widower - unless he is a long time widower.  Then the single man rules apply.

So Condi, while a FAB choice, has liabilities.

From what I understand, Condi and Roms both denied this.  As much as I like her, it would be a failure.  She is going to be tied to Bush, even though she was a foreign policy expert, all the Pharaohs minions have to do is show an ad about the economy and her in it and the sheeple will think she had something to do with it.

IMO, Roms is fucking this up royally.  This should a slam dunk election and he (and the establishment) is doing their best to make sure Barry gets reelected.

Oh yes, that would be just glorious. A former Bush-ite. Just what we need. Also a huge proponent for the Iraq invasion. Obama and Axelrod wouldn't have a field day with this would they. No thanks. I want no more of GWB's admin in office ever again. Plus, she was incompetent as hell as SoS. Anyone who was anyone in Bush's cabinet said she was way in over her head, including Powell.

Allen West or Marco Rubio (maybe Jindal) - anyone else is a liability to an extent. If he picks Pawlenty, I swear I will sit home on election day.

It is unfortunate that he does not have the Clinton magnetism. He is sharp as a tack when it comes to leading. That seems the be the case. The American people want someone to feed them bullshit and make them feel warm and fuzzy about things, regardless if they can actually lead.

Which is what they got 3.5 years ago. How is it working out?

To be honest, I am not sure the majority of government educated Americans are smart enough to know the difference. We are being taught to be a welfare state. Nothing else matters.

Speaking of welfare state, heard this stat from Bernie Goldberg yesterday......

% of blacks born out of wedlock/daddy-less:
1940: 19%
1960: 22%
1965: 25%
2012: 72%

Yes, tell me that LBJ's Great Society program really worked. Everything that white liberal politicians have tried to do to "help" blacks has done nothing but hurt them and been counterproductive in every statistical category.
