Granted, that was in January, but I still find this shocking.

Van Gorder's mug has basically replaced the Auburn logo on message boards & Twitter.

I don't know if I would call it shocking.  They had what 6 different people they interviewed, mostly women.

Not to mention they could have just shown those that didn't know.

I loved his National Lampoon's movie.

I'd bet the vast majority of Auburn students love Auburn Football, but don't LOVE football in general, and keep up with it very little if at all.  I wouldn't be shocked if half the students at Auburn couldn't name more than 3 coaches on staff.  Not shocking.  Also not sure that I've noticed his mug has replaced the Auburn Logo anywhere, except maybe in some folk's profiles.  Real Life>Message Boards.

Hyperbole. It's a thing.

Message boards aren't real life.  I thought they were the boson particles of the universe.

Students for the most part don't care about this shit like we do.  They live in a different world.

They know Gene Chizik and Trooper Taylor.  That's the staff.

I guarantee you they knew Ted "Jazz Hands" Roof.

I guarantee you they knew Ted "Jazz Hands" Roof.

Be willing to take that guarantee one day and turn it around.

Give me a picture of Ted Roof and let me walk the campus asking students who he is.

After a four hours I'd have to call the doctor (think about it...) but during that four hours I'd be surprised if three out of ten could correctly identify him.  I'd go further and say that more would guess Steve Martin than Ted Roof.

Gotta agree.  I'm no fan of Leno but that segment he did called Jay Walking where he would ask random people on the street the simplest of questions proves without a doubt that most people are dumb.  Factor in that they will not care about it like we do and there you have it.

It's true.

When I was a Tiger Host, there were plenty of people who thought I was doing something stupid because I could no longer drink at tailgates, sit in the student section, and wear whatever I wanted to.

Steve Martin has a better defense scheme.

In hindsight I should have said:

With Steve Martin as our DC at least we would have understood why our defense was so comical.
