Title: Week 6 - 10/8 Thread
Post by: Townhallsavoy on October 08, 2011, 01:04:11 PM
Texas is about to get blown out.  Landry Jones is completing the ball all over the field with ease, and they've shown they can run the ball.

Miss St is tied with UAB 0-0 in the second quarter.

Connor Shaw led USCe to a touchdown on their first drive.

No one but the most homer t-sips I talked to out here felt TX even stood a ghost of a prayer against OK.

Anyone hear Musberger talking about the Texas offensive coordinator and Stoops?  About how Stoops couldn't wait to run the score up on him because he was a coach for Boise St during the Fiesta Bowl when Boise upset Oklahoma?

Sounded like Musberger couldn't wait to get see revenge.

What has Texas done to get that #11 ranking?

Granted, UK is a horrible horrible team this season, but Shaw is giving this offense a spark. Right now he is 12/18 192 yards 3TD 0 INT. Another telling stat? Lattimore has 8 carries for 27 yards, and we're getting close to halftime.

This kid may go stink it up next week, but he has been impressive in this game so far. I think they take a chance on him and keep Garcia on the bench, where he belongs. They don't owe Garcia anything. He isn't going to the NFL. He isn't going to get better this season. He's done.

Congratulations Dan Mullen.  You have the worst team in the SEC.

UAB now up 3-0 going into halftime.

Anyone else find it odd that Texas and South Carolina both run plays they haven't ran, with tackles lined up outside of the hash?

Honestly.

MSU is 2-3.  They beat Memphis soundly.  They squeaked past La Tech in OT.  They are 0-3 in the SEC.  And now they are losing 3-0 to an 0-4 UAB team.  MSU is fucking horrible.  How did they win 9 games last year?  How did they put up 600 yards against Auburn?  I don't fucking know.  They SUCK.

UK can give them a run for their money as worst in the league. How they beat WKU or Central Michigan, I don't know. Morgan Newton is 3/16 9 yards 0 TD 1 INT. If you gave this guy a receiver standing still 15 yards away with no defense on the field, he would miss 7 out of 10 times. That bad. UAB would be up by 3 scores on UK right now if they played.

Oh, and Newton just fumbled the ball on his own 23 yard line.

Anybody still think Dan Mullen was the real brains behind the operation at Florida?

Furthermore, MSU has 118 total yards and 0 points in the first half against that stingy UAB defense that is allowing 35 points a game.

The ONLY legitimate explanation.  MSU played Auburn at the top of their game.  They overcome a 14-0 lead.  They won almost every statistical battle.  They put up 34 points on 600+ yards.  And they still couldn't win.  Auburn broke MSU's spirit.  Then they turn around 5 days later and get a physical ass whipping by LSU, which broke their will to compete.  They've quit.  Mullen isn't good enough to get them back up.

And I put 10 motherfucking points on them this week because they're playing UAfuckingB.

I guess we'll find out on October 29 when they meet.  Honestly, they should move that game to the 31st.  It's going to be the ugliest game we've seen in a long time by 2 of the ugliest teams in college football, and no one will be home to watch what will most assuredly be a shittastic abomination of the greatest sport in the Universe.

The Heavens might open in 2 weeks.  That game might be the beginning of the 7 years of tribulation before the world ends.

Speaking of giving up the will to compete, check out Texas.  41-10 at the beginning of the 2nd half.

Mack Brown should be fired.  Sorry for being part of the "What have you done for me now?" crowd.  But Texas has recruited very well over the last five years, and there's no reason why they should go 5-7 one year and get blown out to Oklahoma the next year.

Can we boot MSU out of the SEC?

I mean, not to get too shallow here, but, uh:

Oklahoma now up 48-10 with 8 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.

Franchione understands Mack Brown's pain.

Fear not. MSU put in their backup QB and they are now up 14-3.

Something I don't think I've ever seen in my lifetime: 4th and 49. Just saw it in the OU vs. Texas game.

This is a massacre.

Speaking of massacre, is anybody even watching the UK vs Cocks game? Can a SEC team possibly suck worse than UK?

Newton 4/20 17 yards 1 INT
Roark 0/1 0 yards 0 INT
Maxwell Smith 0/2 0 yards 2 INT
Josh Clemons 0/1 0 yards 1 INT

Connor Shaw is still lighting it up. 25/37 303 yards 4 TD 0 INT. Spurrier better start this kid against MSU.

Don't get me wrong, the MS schools are trying really hard to suck harder than UK. MSU is going to win today, and the Ackbars don't play today. So, by default, UK has to be the worst.

I can't confirm this right now -

South Carolina 526 total yards.

Kentucky 76 total yards.

DAMN.

Unless something drastically changes, LSU is about to break a foot off in UF's ass.

I like that Muschamp is so fiery on the sidelines, but I can't help but wonder if that has an effect on his decision making. I don't expect him to win this game. They're in Death Valley playing a monster of an LSU team, and they are starting their 3rd string QB. I can't believe they went for it on their own 27 yard line 14 points down in the 1st quarter. I mean, it worked out and they got it, but that's a good way to put the nail in your own team's coffin if you fuck it up.

UF just faked a punt on 4th and 6 in their own territory. They didn't make it.

Muschamp is trying to out hat the hatter. I wonder if he just feels like he has no other option.

I'm impressed that this QB is standing in there so well  but they just aren't as physical as LSU.

UF basically punted it to the LSU safety on that INT. I mean, the safety had to stop, turn around, and backpedal to catch it. The WR, who was in full stride, still wasn't at the safety when it was intercepted....that's how overthrown it was.

Not sure.  Danielson said something at the beginning of the game about their starting center being injured but this guy was filling in the last two weeks.

Of course, it's Gary "Two-Toned" Danielson and Verne "Senile" Lundquist doing commentary.

That high snap fake by UF was pretty cool. No way UF comes back to win, but Miles probably shouldn't have dicked around with his QBs .He should have just left things as they were, and get some more points on the board. And is it just me, or are these UF guys afraid to tackle? It's like everybody on their defense is afraid of contact.
