Title: Dyer MIA mystery solved...
Post by: JR4AU on October 01, 2011, 10:08:25 PM
IMHO, Gus knew all along we had a QB issue, and intentionally used the (what he thought, and what was save for Clemson) softer early schedule to bring Trotter along in the passing game.  FAIL!  Count Trotter as Gus' first epic fail at QB.  He was clearly calling games pass heavy to coach Trotter.  Today's 40 carry day for Dyer tells me he's not hurt nor in the dog house.  The way the game went today, showed me that Gus is at the end of the rope with Trotter, and I expect some sort of change, whether wholesale with Mosely, or a lot more Frazier...there will be a change.  Dyer will either be a THE man, or a mangled mess by season's end.

JMHO, YMMV.

And, BTW, while I agreed that Trotter wasn't great, and was indecisive, I didn't think he was that big a liability.  He is.  He absolutely refuses to pull the trigger, and then when we HAVE to have a play, he forces it.

Trotter could cost us every game except Ole Miss and Samford.

Dude had the stupidity of Garcia and the legs of Brandon Cox.

Didn't think he was that fast.

I say a win is a win and hope we work on improving on what Trotter does well with more Dyer and more Frazier. OMac could use a couple more passes as our choices seem to be limited to Blake and a few to Lutz. The slow developing stuff is a fail and put the team in too many 3rd and long situations. We don't have to become the South Carolina of the west and ride Dyer into the ground,  because if that's the case we are doing a poor job developing our talent.

We should stick with Trotter right now. We'll be fine.

We really don't have much choice. My worry is that he is our only choice. Unless we want to get KF killed.

Tonight was not a bad plan. Need Trotter to make few more  passes, we have seen it. Need to back off Dyer a bit. Continue to give Frazier plays. A Pass or two more. Need this defense to show up every week.

We don't have a game coming up, but it would be nice to get KF a series or two.  Run the whole offense.

I have heard this somewhere before...I can't quite put my finger on it though...

You probably heard the echo from when I shouted it from the Rooftops.
