If you utilized a firm, on-line tax prep, or ANYTHING that required a "fee" to pay for, and you chose to pay the firm, tax program, etc... by having the fee deducted from your refund, you will not be receiving your stimulus check via direct deposit.
Found out that out today, as I was expecting my $900 bucks. So, even though I had direct deposit, I had to pay a $19.90 processing fee for my E-file, and since I had it deducted from my 1200.00 refund, I now get to wait for a paper check.........two months from now.
Thanks IRS! :fu:

THat sucks...I checked my account today and found out I was $1500 richer!!! Sweet!!!

We're still waiting and not exactly sure what the amout will be. The wife found some bullshit contradiction in the amount. Once she started explaining it I got pissed and tuned her out. I'll ask her later.
Bet we get fucked outta 300 to 600 dollars.

I think it is $1200 if you are married filing jointly and make under about $160k. Then $300 per child...or something like that...
-
Psssst...
You guys do realize that it's not free money, don't you? It's really just an early refund on next year's tax return. If you don't normally receive a refund or typically owe money at tax time, you're just going to end up paying it all back. :&
-
What is this refund shit you guys are talking about? Wait, here it is..I just pulled it up. Let me check it out and I'll get back to you.
-
Okay, I read up on it. Turns out I just make too damn much money.
Oh well, no refund for me.

Yup, I think the part she saw as a problem was the kids. Something in there that may be loophole bullshit.

Well. maybe things will change by then. Probably not but I can't turn down money right now.

What a clown! That guy's an idiot. His logic is flawed in several areas. The likelihood that this "stimulus" is going to raise interest rates makes about as much sense as you eating a candy bar will cause glow-bull warming.
The real truth is that the “stimulus” will increase deficit spending in the near term, but the government will collect most of it over the rest of the year through normal taxation. Remember, it's not free money. It's being implemented just like the last time they tried this. You'll get the check now, but they'll get the money back out of you over the year through normal income taxes.
Unfortunately, the Democrats expanded the “stimulus” to include more low income families who don’t pay taxes in the first place. It’s likely that most of that will never be recovered, and it will count directly as deficit spending and add to the national debt.

Lovie, we've got to get off this island.
Does an old jet ski that's in the shop right now count as a yacht?
