Title: THE LATEST POLL RESULTS
Post by: Tarheel on May 26, 2011, 07:27:14 PM
And the winner is....none of the above!

I have emphasized the candidates who are truly running at this time so far as I know.  This is supposed to be the shorted poll by Gallup but they still have several names of folk who are questionable and/or are not running at all.

From Gallup:

Quote
PREFERENCE FOR 2012 REPUBLICAN NOMINATION

BASED ON REPUBLICANS AND REPUBLICAN-LEANING INDEPENDENTS

GALLUP, MAY 20-24, 2011

ROMNEY,  17%
PALIN,  15%
PAUL,  10%
GINGRICH, 9%

CAIN, 8%
PAWLENTY, 6%

BACHMANN, 5%
HUNTSMAN, 2%
JOHNSON, 2%
SANTORUM, 2%
HUCKABEE, 1%
CHRISTIE, .5%
OTHER,  2%
NONE/ NO OPINION,  22%

Who took the effort to participate in a poll just so they could say they have no opinion?

It simply demonstrates that there's still a lot of doubt about the current contenders amongst Republicans and Republican-leaning independents.

What I found really interesting was another aspect of this poll which showed that College-educated responders and regular church-goers leaned heavily towards Romney while non-church-goers and less educated responders leaned towards Ron Paul, Sarah Palin, and Newt Gingrich.
