I was just about to post this exact video. I like this guy (I guess I'm not a racist after all) and may have found my candidate.

Can't see it from work, but assuming from your comment that it is of Herman Cain?

It's a video of his speech to the GA GOP convention this past Saturday.

Appreciate it. I will watch it when I get a chance this evening. So far I like the guy.

You would be correct. I can't wait to see how they are going to throw the race card at him. How do you call a black man that disagrees with Obama a racist?

You call him an inverted racist.

They will think of something and have the MSM sell it off to the people that don't know any better.

I just got around to listening to the video. I have to say, the more I hear this guy the more I like. The guy makes too much sense. If he keeps it up, I just might have to vote for the guy.
-
Cain is my #1 guy right now. He is the ONLY one I can see getting up there at a debate and wiping the floor with the Obama-nation. The dems won't be able to play the race card either. They can take that racism trump card and shove it up their asses.

A couple of weeks ago, I thought that Newt would be the only one to actually challenge Obama; not because I actually like Newt as a person. Now however, I see Cain as a Heavyweight contender that has could some serious death blows. I'll be standing in his corner for sure.

Bunch a damn racists in here...

Newt is worthless. Damaged goods.
Seriously. No chance whatsoever. Idiot for running.

At this point, I don't care as long as someone gets Obama out of the WH. Yes, I know thats bad to say. I'm past that now anyway since there seems to be a real contender. I think I'm in love.
I am glad though that Newt fathered some of the Tea Party movement. Not that I am big on the whole Tea Party thing but it seems to have awakened a whole new generation of voters that was tired of the same old prune faces running for office, maybe even a good portion of the old voters too.

Do you trust the Tea Party movement? I didn't realize Newt was responsible for some of its upbringing.
I want a movement started by the people. One that has zero connection to our current politicians.
-

No not really, but its hard to trust any politician to be honest. I get sort of an eerie feeling about them. I just see them as breaking the old mold of thinking. This has to be good for those out there that share the same sentiment as seeing some new faces and new blood throwing their hat in the Presidential running. I mean, it would be nice to have people voting for someone because they actually can buy into what the guy is saying rather than punching the ticket because they have heard his name and he is Republican.
I'm not sure how much Newt had to do with the Tea Party beginning but I do know that his endorsed emails floated around discussing this about two years ago I think. I can't remember the name of the "organization" but I know its where the Tea Party got jump started from.
-
Okay, I found the organization I was referring to but it was a little more than two years ago. I can't remember how involved Newt was in the creation of the Tea Party but I am pretty sure he played an intricate part.

Newt fathered none of the true tea party movement. He's a RINO. Neocon at best.
K is right. He is damaged goods and has NO charisma. The fact that he somewhat supported a health insurance mandate on the federal level back in 1993 (Hillary Care) is enough for me. Also factor in that he is a climate change goon with Nancy Pelosi and is soft on the borders (despite what he says in interviews).

I was watching A360 last night and they were seriously hammering away on Newt. He seems to have backed himself into a corner on this Medicare debate.

I've been reading/watching about Herman Cain. I'm all about him. I'm in. He's got my vote.
-
Damn. Just read that he had stage IV cancer. That will hurt his chances severely.

I thought that to but he states that he has been cancer free for 5 years.
This may actually be a blessing rather than hurt his chances.

Years ago....and beat it. The guy has overcome everything thrown his way in life. He took over the worst performing division at Godfather's and turned it into the best. The guy is good. He's just one of those people with that IT factor.

Herman Cain Begins Race With High Positive Intensity
Little change for Pawlenty, Paul, or Romney; Gingrich's unfavorables up slightly
by Frank Newport
PRINCETON, NJ -- Newly announced presidential candidate Herman Cain, although still not widely known, has the highest Positive Intensity Score among Republicans of any potential GOP candidate still in the race. The positioning of two other candidates who have recently announced presidential bids -- Tim Pawlenty and Ron Paul -- has not changed. Both have average or below-average appeal among Republicans. Newt Gingrich's Positive Intensity Score is below average, and is down from the week prior.

IBOPE Zogby Poll: Cain Passes Christie Among GOP Primary Voters; No One in GOP Field Leads Obama42% say Obama deserves re-election
Posted on May 23, 2011
By Corry Schiermeyer
UTICA, NY - Herman Cain leads Chris Christie as the top choice of Republican primary voters in the race for the 2012 Presidential nomination. Among all voters, no one in a list of 13 possible GOP candidates leads President Barack Obama. However, less than half of voters (42%) say Obama deserves re-election.
The results of a new IBOPE Zogby Interactive poll, conducted from May 20-23, show Cain, a businessman and radio talk show host who drew attention at the first party Presidential debate early this month, as the choice of 19% of GOP primary voters. Christie, the New Jersey Governor who led in our four previous polls, is second with 16%, followed by Mitt Romney in third with 11%.
Romney is now seen as a more acceptable candidate to Republican voters than he was in our interactive poll conducted from May 6-9. Then, 27% of GOP primary voters said they would never vote for Romney compared to just 9% who say so now. Romney remains the candidate GOP voters believe most likely to be the nominee with 37%, and no one else gets more than 6%.
Christie does best in a match-up with Obama, but trails, 45%-44%. Obama leads both Romney and Tim Pawlenty by 45%-40%. Obama is ahead of Cain, 46%-38%.

I'm late to the party on this thread as usual. I finally had some time to watch this video, phenomenal; thanks for posting it, Ogre. Cain is definitely my favorite right now; definitely has the IT factor as someone else alluded to on this thread.

It might seem a small matter to many but one mannerism that I like about Herman Cain, especially when he talks about this fight with cancer, is that he's not afraid nor ashamed to invoke the name of God. He talks about this also in his official announcement video on his website and I found it very sincere and endearing that he chose his church as his backdrop while talking about it. Obviously a man of faith (and NOT the Jeremiah Wright variety!).

Religion doesn't matter to me so much as long as one doesn't use it politically (Brother Huck) or to incite hate (Wright). Cain is very much like Reagan in that he excercises his right to freedom of religion but doesn't have to wear it on his sleeve at ALL times just to cram it down your throat. I like that.

Yes, in accordance with Jesus' teachings.
Take the light in you and hide it under a basket so nobody else can see it. Matthew 5:14-15
I've taught you a lot of good things, but don't tell anybody else about them. And definitely don't go tell people in other countries. Matthew 28:19-20
Of course, I might be remembering those wrong.

"Brother Huck"; that made me laugh today. He seems like such a nice guy but you see him in the same room as Mitt Romney or even have a journalist mention his name and "Brother Huck's" religious bigotry is clear for everybody to see. Despicable.

I have said several times that we need a religious forum on this board...it'd probably cause too much ugliness among the X'ers though.

I thought we were ugly as is. :)
I would love to see one, but I too fear it would get nasty and not in a good way.

We really only have three threads on this board.
1. Ones that get ugly and devolve into people shouting progressively louder "No, you're wrong!".
2. Ones that get stupid and devolve into movie quotes.
3. Combination of 1+2.
I can't see religion threads being any different except for a lot more "10 Commandments" quotes.
-
Hey, we're all Christians here. Except for the Jews...and the atheists..and the Muslims...and the Asian guy. Don't know what he is.

In that case GF should make it so.
