Darvin Adams (surprisingly) bids adieu

Hey everyone.

We have word this morning that Darvin Adams, the Tigers’ leading receiver in 2009 and 2010, has elected to forgo his senior year and instead aim for the NFL Draft. The source is an Auburn athletic department spokesman.

First the good stuff: Adams set a school record in 2009 with 60 catches.

I am kind of surprised by this...

Hope he does well.  But...this sux for us.  Wow, is this team ever going to be young next year.  Oh well, I'll trade that for a MNC any day of the week.

Should be exciting to watch.

Wish him well, and hope I'm wrong.  Bad move on his part IMHO.  He's a 4th rounder at best, and could go undrafted.  If he works hard, he could make a roster somewhere.   War Eagle and good luck to him.

Ageed. I guess he has little choice with his situation. War Eagle Darvin!

I certainly wish the best for Mr. First Down. I was hoping he would stay but he has to do what he feels he has to do. Hopefully Benton can move into his spot and make some plays.

Don't forget about Mr. Emory Blake.

Well, from the flip side, you're right...I don't see how he improves his situation much by staying.  He simply lacks true NFL size and speed.  Would be great if he turned out to be on of those that defies the odds through hard work.

Don't forget about Mr. Emory Blake.

Trotter or Frazier will find their favorite guy, and develop a relationship with whoever it is.  Our WR have showed signs of actually being well coached with this staff.  I have confidence someone will emerge.

Quick note...was just listening to Brando at lunch and he read off a list of all the SEC underclassmen who declared for the draft.  Said he just got the list.  He said 14 declared from the SEC and Adams was not on the list.  Now granted, most all the names were high profile guys who made some kind of announcement.  Trying to recall:

Newton
Fairley
Dareus
Ingram
Jones
Green
Peterson
Riddley
Cobb
Gurley
Lineman from Ole Piss (Can't recall the name)
Freekishly Tall Mallet Cat

Rackin my noodle on the other 2.  Anyway....

Ah yes the highly touted, cap switching US Army Game participant that almost went to AU ...and didn't.

If I were Trotter, I'd be developing a special relationship with all of the WRs. But my biggest target would be Lutz. Dude can catch anything. He could make a QB look all world.

HE is no Tommy Trott, though !  :sarcasm:
