Title: Anybody Listening to JOX?
Post by: AUChizad on December 28, 2010, 10:02:01 AM
They've got the B-team in since the regulars are on vacation.

They've got some assclown producer in the studio proclaiming how and why Auburn is irrelevant.

I know that it's just to bait Auburn fans into showing their ass about it, but it's hard to listen to such a lapse in logic displayed so arrogantly and pompously...

Yes, that David douchenozzle. And yes he is condescending as hell. This is hard to listen to. My blood pressure has went up 20 points since I started listening.

"its pretty apparent auburn bought cam. They outbidded miss st." - David

"you can't prove bama has paid any player....show me proof." - David

So.....innuendo and heresay is ok to convict one team. But you need concrete proof to show that YOUR team has done the same thing? Got it.  Us against the world folks.

"How about, Auburn is irrelevant. Oh, yeah, well Auburn beat us 7 of the last 10, but you can only beat us when we're down". One guy called him on "I thought you were the defending National Champions this year", but no one has yet called him on how "down" Auburn was in the two years they beat us this decade.

Also, when people point out that we beat them this year, and are playing for a National Championship, he keeps trying to point out that one year doesn't make a trend. But two years do. Two measley years when Auburn truly was "down", and that's supposedly more of a sign of dominance than Auburn handing them their ass the other 7 games out of the last 9.

Amazing.

And some of these redneck Auburn fans calling in are pissing me off by playing into his little game by saying things like "Auburn will never be Alabama" or "Yeah, Alabama was down this year". WTF.

Made the mistake last week of listening to Shane on PF.  Started to turn but then it got downright hilarious.  I understand Shane's purpose on the show and what it's been for years, but even he had run out of material last week.  You could tell Paul was just bored to tears with him and wasn't even responding.

"Paul....have you ever seen an NCAA investigation move this fast....I mean, who do you think bought off the NCAA Paul?  I mean.....how do we even know Cam Newton is going to class?  Has anyone investigated that Paul?  I mean, does anyone know if Cam actually goes to class?  Why hasn't anyone investigated that Paul?  I mean....uh, and Cecil Newton Paul....uh, does he know if his own son is going to class?  Has anyone investigated whether Cecil Newton...

Tom is next from Cullman...

Gotta' say I laughed yesterday when one of the callers just called out one of the regulars from Ohio who has spent the last months hammering the SEC for being corrupt etc.  Reeeeeaaally wanted to know his take on how he felt about his precious Buckeyes and tattogate.

Bammer at work yesterday "Y'all better win in all this year, yur losin' 5 next year.......Go Ducks".

Bammers good for two things in this area...Predicting they'll be NCs no matter what, and predicting Auburn will lose X number of games (usually 4 or 5) no matter what.  Their normal schtick it to predict a repeat of Auburn's previous year's campaign if we happened to have lost 4 or 5, or to lose 4 or 5 next year because this good year was created by players that are all leaving.  In 2009, they predicted another 5-7 year like in 2008.  For 2010 the predictions were another 8-5 season.  Since they can't in good conscience predict another undefeated season, they've defaulted to predicting 4-5 losses for 2011.

IOW, as a group, they're pretty limited in their intellectual powers, and they run the same tired bullshit smack year in and year out, and they never let history or facts get in their way.

However, you do understand that if Auburn were to lose on the 10th, that automatically gives Bammer at least a share of the MNC for this year because they're the best 3 loss team in America?  Probably the best 3 loss team in the history of college football.  That qualifies the Tahd for another one...right?

Damn, you scared the shit out of me with that pic.  The Enforcer, baby.

Flexie Lexie had the killer physique but good gawd, he was a horrible wrassler.  You have to at least be able to make a fake punch look somewhat real.

Quick story. My wife's grandpa was the biggest wrestlin' fan on earth.  Actually got so mad one night at the matches at the Farm Center in Dothan, he pulled a knife on someone.  He loved it when me and my brother in law would go with him. Thought he was treating us to Disney World or something.  I didn't mind, I love wrasslin'.  One night at the illustrious Farm Center, there's a world title bout between Nature Boy Ric Flair and Austin Idol.  (It doesn't get much better than that)  Me and BIL are standing in the aisle and there's a point in the match when Idol starts slapping Flair around and Flair leaves the ring acting like he's quitting and heading to the dressing room.

He stops just in front of us and my BIL hollers right in his ear, "Get back in the ring, pussy".  As soon as he says it, my BIL quickly sits down and Flair turns around face to face with me.  He looks at me 6" from my nose and says, "I know you ain't talkin' to me darlin".  I sounded like fuckin' Pee Wee Herman..."No, it wasn't me....it was him, I swear" .  My brother in law was like..."What you SHOULD have said..."

Flair was in his prime.  He backed me down.  :)

It would have been better if he did.  Almost crapped my pants.  I admit to being a wrasslin' fan since I was a kid.  They used to film it in Montgomery at old WKAB studios.  My moms would drop me and a friend off there even when we were about 11 or 12.  That was before you worried about your kid's picture winding up on a milk carton.  We'd watch the good ole boys of wrasslin'...Mr. Wrestling #2, Jimmy Golden, Robert and Ron Fuller and don't forget....Bullet Bob Armstrong.

While I was at Auburn, we'd get a group up on Wednesday nights and head over to Columbus for some WCW action...then off to Vicotry Drive for some strip club action.  I was all about high class entertainment while on Teh Planes.

Being from East Alabama/Columbus, GA area, my old man used to take me down to the old Cols Municipal Auditorium to see the Fred Ward Productions rasslin matches back in the 80's. Chick Donavan, Mr Wrestling, Tommy Rich, Michael PS Hayes, Flair, Steamboat, Ole and Arn - they used to have all the good ones at the "Barn" on Victory Drive as we called it. Good times......

Snaggle - that was back when Cols had GOOD strip clubs -when they could show the cooter and all. Now-its just underwear and pasties....has been for 10years. No thanks - I'll take a Victoria's Secret catalog if thats all I'm gonna get to see.

To me Bruno Sammartino will always be the king. Although Bret Hart, Stu Hart, Sean Michaels, Verne Gagne and Fritz Von Erich were all very good technical rasslers as well.

Back in the mid 90's when wrestling still made most of it's hay with the superstars doing a ton of touring (The Saturday or Sunday TV shows were to promote the tour) Dothan became a fairly regular stop for about a year.  The World Gym I went to had a contract with WCW to allow their wrestlers to come work out while in town so I got to meet and talk to quite a few, including Flair.  Jimmy Garvin and Michale PS Hayes were teaming together at that time and were in the gym with a lot of others.

I was talking to a couple of guys that were a tag team, forget what the team name was but their stage names were Blade and Steel.  Huge mofo's but obviously never made it big.  I was asking them who on the circuit was a true to life bad ass and without hesitation, they both started laughing and said the night before, they had run out of a bar in Columbus to save their own asses.  They said Stan The Lariat Hansen, was wrecking the bar and taking on all comers.  They said that guy would fight at the drop of a hat.

Isn't that Golddust?  You know he is Dusty Rhodes' son.
Adrian Street.  He and "Bullet" Bob Armstrong ruled the Birmingham wrassling scene when I was a kid.

Dont forget Mike Jackson.

Funny story...I played softball against him almost every weekend when I was in my 20's.  He was a scrawny little runt, but could hit a softball like nobody's business.

Used to be a black guy that wrassled mostly on the local circuit that went by Porkchop Cash.  Looked like a big, ripped mofo under the lights and he was always introduced as being 215 pounds.  Met his wife once and asked her if that was true.  She laughed and said he had weighed himself that week and was just under 180.  Never saw Mike Jackson in person but I got that same impression.  He could move like hell but he didn't look like he was 165 soaking wet.

165-170 was probably accurate.

I know I'm thinking about the same guy.  Beard and mustache, wrassled in a singlet?

Andre was a freaking monster, literally. Him and Hogan use to be a good tag team against whomever.

You guys can't forget about this guy.

Mike was a referee for my basket ball leagues growing up, he also sold softball bats. Could play softball like a mofo.

He would go entire weekend tournaments without getting out back in the day.  Had a damn Hoover for a glove too.
