Walter Camp Football Foundation Names National Players of the Week
New Haven, Conn. – The Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced its Football Bowl Subdivision National Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for games ending October 16.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CAM NEWTON, AUBURN
Junior, Quarterback, College Park, GA/Blinn JC
Junior quarterback Cam Newton accounted for four touchdowns and 328 yards of total offense (188 rushing and 140 passing) as seventh-ranked Auburn defeated 12th-ranked Arkansas, 65-43. Newton rushed for three touchdowns (5, 1 and 3 yards) and also threw a 15-yard scoring pass as the Tigers scored their most points ever in a SEC contest.

• Newton rushed for 188 yards and three TDs on 25 carries and completed 10-of-14 passes for 140 yards and another score in Auburn’s 65-43 win against Arkansas.
• In the decisive fourth quarter, Newton was 4-of-4 passing for 52 yards and a TD and also rushed for another score.

• Fairley is tied for second in the SEC in sacks (5.0) and leads the league in total tackles for loss (13.5).

Also, lest we forget, this is the 4th opposing QB to be knocked out of the game. Not bad for such a "horrible" defense. Although, after watching Wilson play, I was hoping Mallet might come back in to play.

I predicted this after the game - Cam AND Nick both (see, I got Wench Psychic Skreets) and my beloved Corndog laughed loudly.
"An AUBURN player is NOT going to win Defensive POW - you guys SUCK at defense..."
I just gave him The Look... and he went to get another beer. Might as well drink himself into a stupor after THAT remark... he'll have nothing better to do...
