I'm going to check out Mr. Florence. Enrique and his Valley teammates will be playing down here in Dothan. I know I talked about this last year, but I gotta' tell ya', this kid was so good, I came home and posted something immediately asking if anyone has ever heard of him. I described a play where he caught a pass on a 3rd and 7 out pattern and turned it up field. He went about 60+ yards, from point A to point B so fast and smooth that the entire crowd, including his own, just paused for a couple of seconds during the run and just went...Ooooooo...It was like the air got sucked out of the place.
That night, on the local high school highlite show, that was the play of the week. And the funny thing is...his forte is defense. I know it's my brother in laws team that's going to get smashed, but...tough shit. Even he asked me if I was coming to see Enrique play.

What was so funny was the announcer obviously didn't have a roster. He would just say, "Tackle made by #4". Just before the end of the first half, he literally went, "And there's that #4 again, making ANOTHER tackle."

Auburn needs this guy. He will fit right in as an Auburn Tiger. By the looks of it, he doesn't miss any tackles. From what I have read, he pretty much plays every position on the field.

Talked to my BIL tonight. He says Florence will play almost exclusively offense. A lot of wildcat stuff. Personally, I hate to see that.

Interesting side note. Talked with my BIL last night and he said they don't expect to see Enrique much on defense. He said Valley played Auburn (Who looks to be loaded again this year) last week and EF played almost exclusively on offense, running the Mildcat.

Well yeah, I was drunk LAST night. Today, I was reposting what I thought I didn't post last night when I was drunk posting....now, I see that my reposting was very similar to my drunk posting where I pretty much posted the same thing.

Gotta gives my quick report from Friday night. I texted both Brian and Wes during the game but apparently they were to busy DRINKIN' LIQUOR and SMOKIN' DOOOOBIES to respond. Yep, eNrique only played QB. I was very surprised by his arm. Extremely accurate and incredibly strong. At one point, I believe he was 5-5 and 2 TD's. He made several eye popping runs from the shotgun. When he wants to go from point A to point B, he just does it...in a hurry. It was 35-0 midway through the 2nd quarter. He was pulled and I would estimate he had between 250-350 all purpose yards. Hard to keep up with it. I would have to say, this is the best pure athlete I've ever seen on a high school football field.
Two things. First, anyone notice the sign at JHS for eNrique? Showing the love. Second, a Bammer moment at the game. I'm standing at the fence and this guy comes up and stands right next to me talking on the phone and decked out from head to toe in King Crimpsum. The conversation went as follows....and I promise, I do not embellish here at all.
"I ain't kiddin' ya, this kid is bad ass. They ain't let him throw it. He ain't throwed it not one time. (That was when he was 5-5). I thank we got a good shot at him. All Sabin's gotta do is go talk to him. Hell, why wouldn't he want to come. Won't be this weekend cause he's takin' off fer Southern Cal right after the game. Yep, he's flyin' right out as soon as the game's over. Must be nice. He's sumpin'. He's gonna' look good in Crimson."

Well, I have it on good authority that he hasn't been playing any defense this year and in fact, may not the rest of the year. Word has it, he's only going to play offense. But keep that on the down low for now.

There are 5 flights to Los Angeles daily going out of the Greater Dothan City Municipal Airport Bait & Tackle Store. He was transported by AAA Cab Company straight from the game to the GDMAB&T where he settled in for the 6 hour flight. He popped a couple of Tylenol PM's and drifted off to dream about playing on the offensive side of the ball in Bryant Denny. Sweet crimson dreams.

I heard he was airlifted by sling and caught a ride with the Army Paratroopers then parachuted down into the press box.
