Title: It is a very sad day in Tailgateville
Post by: AUTailgatingRules on August 19, 2010, 11:13:59 AM
Looks like the mother fucking administration is putting an end to tailgating next to the famed Pink Dumpster.  Looks like they are putting a ban on RV's in our spot and letting only faculty and employees park in our area.  One of the other guys I tailgate with spoke to one of the powers to be to confirm.

I've been tailgating in this same spot since 1985 and now they seem to think they should close it off.  Pretty soon we will be tailgating in the Wal Mart parking lot if they have their way.

Anyone know of a good place to relocate?

Eight years ago we got run from the spot we had had since '66.

Fuc'em.  Hope they enjoy all their concrete now.

Sure...chime...

Seriously though...I gots da hookup at a nice spot with limited access to the public - for free. Near Hemlock and Thatch.

I think the admin/ad is general is cutting off the hand that feeds them. With this and then with how the fan days have went down the last 3-4 years. The fans have been getting the short end of the stick. And it fucking sucks.

You're welcome to conglomerate with us behind the softball field on the corner of Samford & Wire.

They've had an orange barrier around our spot with a sign that says "No Tailgating" for about 4 years now, and it hasn't stopped us for one game.

I've got this great little spot in LaGrange Georgia.  It's only a 2 mile wak to I-85 and we can usually hitch a ride pretty quick to College.  From there, no more than 30 minute walk to the tram and we're home free.  Granted, the trek back takes a little more time but after a win, who cares?

Mark, like Chad said.  Come join us behind the softball field and lets merge into a super tailgate.  We have tons of parking, tons of room, and it has been ours specifically for the last four years.  They roped it off and said no tailgating but Joe Fraiser called the athletic department and it is all ours.

If you don't care how close you are to the center of campus...out by the lake near the "Facilities"...(W. Samford at Shug Jordan) is the last place I was displaced to.   Easy in and out before and after, and bus to near the stadium.  But that's just me...I didn't need the hustle and bustle of campus or the pain the ass of dealing with all the new "off limits" parking, and folks roping off.  I gave up in prior to 2008 after 15 years.  Auburn is fucking up one of the things that makes game day in Auburn unique.

These guys do it up right. There would be plenty of parking for the RV I would think and Joe can fucking grill up some shit...

Yeah but you jokers are to far away from Uncle Sani's tailgate, and he has the Warden, so he wins.

Sounds good to me but how fmaily friendly will it be?  I have 2 12 year old cousins, My dad, My brother, sister in law, and a usually 5-6 friends around.  We also usually have 5-20 of my dad's friends that join us as well.

You guys have been around my  spot enough to know that on a good game day we would have as many as 75-100 people in and out during the day.  Is ya'lls spot big enough for a super tailgate?

Yeah, we have more than enough room.  We have probably around a city block, because we have that whole corner.  Plus, we do drink and have a lot of fun, but nothing bad.  Safe for children and adults.  Actually, we generally have a lot of younger kids (Joe's kids and his friends kids) as well as some older gentlemen.

I had my 5 year old there last time. There was nothing there that he doesn't see at home; drinking, cussing, and chicks showing me their boobies...

Oh there they go. There they go, every time I start talkin 'bout boxing, a white man got to pull Rocky Marciano out their ass. That's their one, that's their one. Rocky Marciano. Rocky Marciano. Let me tell you something once and for all. Rocky Marciano was good, but compared to Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano ain't shit.

Your parents stopped by too, right?  I remember meeting your folks, that was cool.  I think they enjoyed it.

Where exactly is the spot and where do you pull your car in from?  Do you pull over the curb on Wire or pull in on the Samford side?  Is it right on the road or off it some?

Chill out Nancy, theirs is just closer to my old one.  Where exactly is yours and how much room do you have?

How much free beer and BBQ do you have too.  Mark's also been known to pass out little gift packs of miniatures to line your pockets with just before game time.  Can you do that, Hmmmm? I may be encouraged to walk a bit farther.
