Title: "Gimmicky Offense" draws attention of coaches...Saban
Post by: JR4AU on August 09, 2010, 06:20:31 PM
Hard to believe Saban would waste his time coaching a bunch of coaches on such a worthless gimmick.

And the other two missed games here and there and Saban stepped in.

Lord Saybinz rocking back and forth at the podium is merely a hypnotic ploy.  Last Thursday, I saw him on the 6:00 News and soon after, I was running naked down the road singing Pat Benatar's greatest hits.

At the moment I am not coaching. I used to coach football and baseball. My daughter is almost three and I do not want to miss a thing. When she gets older I will be back coaching. I stopped coaching after she was one. While I was coaching I hurt when I heard my wife talking about she did this and that and I missed it.

I live in GA. I coached at Heritage High School for three years. Remember Bo Harris I coached him at HHS. He was not very smart but one hell of a player. I think he lasted one year at allbarn. Like I said he was not very smart. And right now I am at Grayson High School. Pretty big school with 2700 students.

Thank you. I do like the school. However we are a little over capacity so we have trailers. Guess who was lucky enough to get moved out to the trailers? Yep that would be me. However I like to call my trailer a moblie learning unit. I think it has a nice ring to it.

These aren't the leftover trailers from Katrina are they? Also, what happened to gov't money going to schools? Nevermind, that is a topic for SGA. There are many schools in AL that are made of nothing but trailers.

Not trailers from Katrina. Your property taxes is what pays for public education. Sadly Alabama has some of the lowest property taxes in the country and one of the reasons I left for GA. We hope to move back to Alabama but some things have to change, like we do not need as much money or Alabama pays their teachers more.

Yes, my brother graduated from Jacksonville St with a teaching degree with hopes to be a coach. He can't even find a job and working at a bank. Doesn't the lottery pump money into the schools systems in GA?

It is tough in Alabama right now. Has he thought about going back to school and getting his Master's? The lottery used to pump money now I think the lottery has some prostate problems. The flow of money has been reduced to a trickle. The lottery was set up to send money to public education but the law makers of GA thought the money could be spread out to other areas. So cut education and send more money to all kinds of stuff. Lots if educators are not happy with how the money has been used.

Yeah, I think thats what he is planning on doing. I was actually encouraging him to go to GA, TN or FL for teaching openings. GA, however, has been the state for the longest time building school after school. I've had many many jobs doing schools (drafting and design). Freaking lawmakers keep fucking shit up.

Funny you mention all this.  I am actually thinking about re-certifying, taking my ATPP and Praxis and getting back into teaching.  The money is good right now in the field I am working, but the time I could be at home with my son is much more important than the money.  I haven't made up my mind fully yet, but getting home at 6 and him going to bed at 8 or 8:30 doesn't give me much time and he is leaving to go stay with "Granna" while I am getting ready to go to works.   Sucks bad man!

Should have toughed it out and got my masters, I could be a principal by now or at least an assistant principal. O' well. Hindsight is 20/20 and stuff.

That was the problem with trying to pass the lottery here.  The bill had no accountability of where the money was going to be spent.  If it had been structured and they could account how much was going to be spent where, I would have gladly voted yes.

Actually, Ga's budget shortfall right now (4.2 billion) is epic compared to Alabama's this year (586 million). Just saying.....Making it even worse is Ga has the education lottery and much higher taxes in general. Lots of money being wasted in Atl on useless horse farms....

Actually, Ga's budget shortfall right now (4.2 billion) is epic compared to Alabama's this year (586 million). Just saying.....Making it even worse is Ga has the education lottery and much higher taxes in general. Lots of money being wasted in Atl on useless horse farms....

Tarheel said it best when it comes to Gov't spending......

Stop!  Just phuking STOP!

That is all.

The budget shortfall should be compared with the number of students to really see what the shortage is. You know what I mean? But truthfully you are right lots of money being wasted.
