Reality tv fans feel a little more connected to the new season of "The Biggest Loser"?

Two of this season's contestants are former University of Alabama Tuscaloosa football players.

Roger Shultz and Trent Patterson are competing as a team.

That's the new twist to the reality show this season.

Shultz and Patterson are the gray team.

They're competing against nine other pairs to see who can lose the most weight.

The first episode of the season aired Tuesday night on NBC.
