1. Every single national sports show speculating 24/7 where Kawhi Leonard will sign.

Carry on.

I've never seen it like this. I understand it's a huge year for free agency and the landscape is changing in the league.  But the countdown shows and oversaturation of analysis is becoming annoying as hell.

Unless he signs with Golden State, it's going to be the Nets and the Lakers in the finals next season.

Speaking of the NBA, the whole Kevin Durant injury deal is a microcosm of where we are in sports as a whole.  Not pointing a finger at Durant at all, in fact, he did exactly what I expect 99% of all athletes to do.  For those that didn't follow, KD strained a calf early in the playoffs.  (Definitely a misdiagnosis since KD doesn't have any calves)  He was out about a month and after rehab, running all the tests and being cleared by doctors, after practicing and testing it out and feeling ready to go....he played.  Unfortunately, he ruptures an Achilles first game.  Bad injury and out for quite a while.

My problem was the debate before and after about whether or not he should play, based solely on the fact that as soon as the playoffs were over, he's a free agent and set to sign a "Max deal". I heard numerous people like Reggie Miller and Charles Barkley questioning the decision to play and risk injury.  To his credit, KD felt ready to go, so he did.  But those that were questioning that decision, and there were many, were basically saying Durant should have gone to his teammates and to the organization paying him $30 million to play basketball, and tell them, "Everything checks out and I feel good and I'm ready to step back on the court.....buuuuut, I'ma sit this out because I'm about to make a lot more money.  You guys are on your own.  Have fun out there."

Let this sink in. NBA teams committed 38 billion dollars to pay these guys just yesterday. Wonder what Kawhi will get? Pity the oppressed.

They try the celebration shit in any of the 4 major sports, someone is getting hurt.  And I love the people defending this.  "If this were the NFL you wouldn't mind."  Uhhh, the NFL fines you and penalizes you for taunting.  And in baseball, you're catching a fastball in the lower back next time you come to the plate.

I have no problem with them running the score up.  But the choreographed celebration when they went up 9-0 on Thailand should have been dealt with by the Thai players.

Alex Morgan's tea sipping yesterday should have been dealt with the same way that Terrell Owens celebrating on the Dallas Cowboy star at midfield was.

If any of Spurriers players had taunted the other team after going up 70 in a choreographed dance routine, Spurrier would have benched them.

Should they be paid more? To what degree? I'm not sure.  They claim inequality but relative to what.  From my understanding, the Men's sport brings in substantially more revenue upwards of 6 billion compared to 131 million pulled in by the women. I also know the men play more games.

I don't know the inner workings of the contracts but it seems to me the equal of the WNBA World Champions complaining they don't get paid as much as the Kwahi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors.  It just doesn't work that way.

The other thing that bothers me is the constant victim mentality that seems to be getting worse with the passing day, in this world.  Look we all want to make more money, I get it, but what about the fact you chose what profession you want to be in.  Most people know what kind of salary they are getting and what their opportunities will be as they progress.  This goes for any profession be it professional athletes, teachers or doctors.  These ladies will have endorsements and other things that pay them again relative to the market much more than I make, to play a game.

Laugh if you want but there is still the “more revenues leads to more pay” inconvenient truth. And she’s making a total ass of herself with this.

It’s simple economics and supply/demand. I’m not sure why you guys insist on turning everything into emotional propaganda.

I'm not standing on my soapbox on this issue.  I was, admittedly, caught up in the fun run that team was on.  I hadn't really studied up on the matter and the economics apparently support the status quo.

I just find is so incredibly amusing to watch K have his little temper tantrums over Disney movies and a world champion soccer team.

I have seen a few snippets of coverage from the team's visit to D.C.  It's bothersome that purple hair is turning this into a side show circus about her and her beliefs.  This is supposed to be a celebration of the soccer team, not purple hair McLadylover.

Speaking of ladylover, that Alex Morgan lady for the soccer team is hoooooooottttttttt!!!

Mostly what I've seen is her responding to questions the media puts to her.  I guess you could be upset that she continues those responses in her "speeches", such as they are, but she didn't start the conversation and her "brand"/fans are loving it.  The remarks she's made at podiums largely begin with and focus on what a great team she plays with.

Also...if you need a break from USWNT coverage...go find the Brit team's leaked nudes.
To be honest, I haven't heard anything she's talked about during this. I'm sure the media are asking the questions because they try to force they're agenda down our throat.  Her "fans" are the young naïve and the lg...whatever community.  The rest of America doesn't agree with her or her trying to steal the spotlight from the team.

And, if you have the link or picture for what you are suggesting you've seen, and you haven't posted them here on the X, then your commitment to the X comes into question.

Might want to reevaluate your news sources, then, cause you're missing the mark pretty widely.

Again, check your sources.  This team is WILDLY popular and no one honestly thinks that Rapinoe is stealing the team's spotlight.

"No one"? You mean "her" fans. I have seen a ton of fans of the team who are disgusted by one player.

You can "hope it so" like you did with Trump's loss to hitlary, but that will not make it true.

I'll rephrase: no one that isn't a regular consumer of Fox and its ilk think that.

You can rephrase all you want, but its still not true. BTW. Trump won and is still winning. The people who voted for him are the same ones disgusted by your new butch hero.
And OANN is the new trend.

Well, if you still count the illegal and dead vote, no. But enough that voted you and your Cali friends out. And that's plenty enough. You are NOT in the majority. Your people are just the loudest. Its a dying bray!

bro, my "sources" are that of what's been shown on espn.  like I said, I don't know what she's been saying for the most part other than "equal pay" crap which wasn't even a thing with her until some politician brought it up.  I just had the channel on with the volume down.  All they were showing was HER dancing and being an absolute turd.  You'd think (again) with the way the media is pushing her down our throats, that she'd won best player award as well (thought I saw where maybe the Morgan lady won it)

I realize Clay is the same douchnoozle who once questioned Tim Tebow about losing his V-card at SEC Media Days, but his point above is worth hearing and discussing.

Alex Morgan, US women's soccer team honored at The ESPYS

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The U.S. women's national soccer team celebrated its Women's World Cup victory on both coasts Wednesday, honored with a ticker-tape parade in New York City before jetting to the West Coast and collecting trophies at The ESPYS in the evening.

Alex Morgan won female athlete of the year and shared the best team award with her soccer mates.
"Sorry, but this is probably the second-best trophy we won this week," Morgan said jokingly, hoisting her individual trophy.
As she got up from the front row, Megan Rapinoe's black tuxedo jacket opened and exposed her left breast, which was caught by cameras showing the in-house feed of the show. An ABC spokesperson said the show would be further edited for the Mountain and Western time zones.
"I've dropped the F-bomb on every stage the last four days, so we'll just spare you that," Rapinoe told the audience.
.
Alex Morgan thanked ESPN for its recent deal to carry NWSL games.
"When the World Cup is behind us, it is the professional league that we need to continually lift up and grow," she said. "Investment in women and girls should not only occur on the playing fields but in more storytelling of badass, amazing women who continue to show that we are more than just athletes."
Sandra Bullock announced the best team award, saying, "All those in favor of equal pay say aye."
The U.S. women's team is suing to receive pay equal to their male counterparts.
"Keep fighting for equality," Billie Jean King told the team from the stage earlier in the show.
Carli Lloyd informed the crowd the team had its hair and makeup done during the flight from New York.
"We look pretty fabulous, I think," she said.
Lloyd added, "It's been an incredible journey. Here's to the next World Cup."
Other athletes acknowledged the Women's World Cup victory from the stage, including Drew Brees, winner for best record-breaking performance.
"It's going to be in history forever," new New Orleans Pelicans player Lonzo Ball said on the red carpet. "I don't even watch soccer and I watched it. That means a lot."

Your response is typical, read and take one line of it so you don't have to say "you're right"

It was the only part you highlighted.  I read the rest of the article and it was all complimentary of the team.
