Title: Bob Woodward's new book entitled "Fear: Trump in the White House"
Post by: The Prowler on September 04, 2018, 07:10:46 PM
Snipets...

“This was no longer a presidency. This is no longer a White House. This is a man being who he is.” Def Sec Mattis told aides that Trump was "like a fifth or sixth grader" while he tried to explain to Trump that he couldn't remove US troops from Korean Peninsula. “We’re doing this in order to prevent World War III.”

Trump said of AG Jeff Sessions: “This guy is mentally retarded. He’s this dumb Southerner. … He couldn’t even be a one-person country lawyer down in Alabama.”

Gary Cohn wrote a resignation letter after Charlottesville, but stayed on. Kelly told Cohn, "I would have taken that resignation letter and shoved it up his ass six different times."

Chief of Staff Kelly said of Trump: “He’s an idiot. It’s pointless to try to convince him of anything. He’s gone off the rails. We’re in Crazytown. I don’t even know why any of us are here. This is the worst job I’ve ever had.”

At the urging of advisers, Trump condemned white supremacists and neo-Nazis, but almost immediately told aides, “That was the biggest fucking mistake I’ve made” and the “worst speech I’ve ever given.”

John Dowd did a practice Mueller interview with Trump...it went disastrously. Dowd told Trump: “Don’t testify. It’s either that or an orange jumpsuit.” He resigned as Trump's lawyer the following day. John Dowd was convinced that President Trump would commit perjury if he talked to the special counsel. He staged a practice session to make his point. Trump stumbled. "This thing’s a goddamn hoax," Trump erupted. "I don’t really want to testify.”

After Bashar al-Assad supposedly launched a chemical attack on civilians in April 2017, Trump called Mattis and said he wanted to assassinate the dictator. 'Let’s fucking kill him! Let’s go in. Let’s kill the fucking lot of them,' Trump said. Mattis hung up the phone and told senior aide, “We’re not going to do any of that.”

Top Trump advisers took papers off of the president's desk to stop him from making decisions, and “to protect the country.” Trump's former personal lawyer John Dowd describes Trump as "a fucking liar," telling him he would end up in an "orange jump suit" if he testified to special counsel Robert Mueller."

This excerpt from the Washington Post piece tells me all I need to know.

Woodward writes that his book is drawn from hundreds of hours of interviews with firsthand participants and witnesses that were conducted on “deep background,” meaning the information could be used but he would not reveal who provided it.

Bullshit!  First off, "firsthand participants and witnesses" means they are part of the Trump administration.  This is as high, career-wise, as most, if not all of them will go.  And they're running to Bob Woodward to offer "hundreds of hours" of interviews, saying horrible shit about the man that hired them?  Hundreds of hours?

When Tuberville was at Auburn, my first cousin was Jay Jacobs right hand man/beyotch for a few years.  During CTT's last couple of years when things were going in the shitter, I was constantly contacting her for any scoop, so that my ePenis could expand to new heights.  Okay, 4 inches.  But that's not the point.  Until she left the athletic department, the most information I ever got out of her was "It's great to be an Auburn Tiger".

We're expected to believe that numerous members of the Trump administration agreed to "hundreds of hours" of interviews with this man to trash their boss. Why?

If they've left or been fired, why the anonymity?  Absolutely nothing to lose and nothing to hide.  Seems that everyone else who left or got fired has been more than happy to try and cash in. "Yeah, Trump fired me, but don't tell him I told you this."

Another part of the WAPO piece

The dramatic and previously untold scene is recounted in “Fear,” a forthcoming book by Bob Woodward that paints a harrowing portrait of the Trump presidency, based on in-depth interviews with administration officials and other principals.

Attorney, John Dowd, who doesn't work for Trump anymore, and attorney, Jay Sekulow, who were both supposedly the ones that Woodward claims conducted a mock Mueller interview with Trump....say Woodward is a liar.  Never happened.  Completely fabricated.

In addition, I just saw an interview with Dowd, who said they had turned over 1.4 million documents to Mueller and he was assured by Witch Hunt Bob, that there was full disclosure and that Trump was not a target, just a witness. He asked Dowd if there was anything further they needed and if there was any need to go on.  Mueller told him he'd have to get back to him.

The interesting thing is that Dowd said they could have invoked Executive privilege and everything under the sun to stymie this investigation for years to come, but that Trump was the one that said he wanted it over with. Give them everything.

And still...here we sit. The investigation is ongoing.  smh.

As for sinking his career over a "flaming out President", how could he do that?  He doesn't have to substantiate one word of what he wrote.  The "witnesses" are all anonymous and as long as he's bashing the President, there are millions, like Prowler, who eat up every word of it.  Truthful or not, he has an audience.

You don't know what the word 'triggered' means, Freddie.

Woodward could suck my ass then, he can suck my ass now.  He and his partner helped us transition from journalists who fairly reported the news into this current pack of jackals who are less interested in objective reporting than they are begging for the spotlight.

It was pretty simple with Nixon.  If he'd just said "you know what, those guys screwed up and we're going to take the appropriate action" he'd have skated.  But Woodwind and Dickstain were more interested in burying the guy.  FWIW, Woodcock has a long history of fabricating comments and quotes.

His "career" is shit.

I’m not saying Woodward is a bad dude or lying on purpose. I’m saying this is the equal to a 2nd fake dossier and Woodward has more than likely been duped here. I usually like bob and I’m a little surprised he did this. I’m afraid he’s going to look bad here unless he reveals who the source is and puts the onus back on that person for lying. Because NO ONE is corroborating any of these stories at all.

I'm saying he's a bad dude.  I'm saying he's more interested in selling books and being famous than he is in fair or accurate reporting.  I'm saying that since the 70s, he's repeatedly and consistently claimed to have anonymous 'sources' on any number of topics when it's been widely believed he simply made things up to meet whatever agenda he had at the time and then refused to verify any of the garbage he strew.

Not just referring to the op-ed piece or Woodward's book, I think anonymous sources in general constitute poor journalism. When your source is "Someone close to...or with knowledge of the situation", then every word should be taken with a grain of salt.  We see it constantly in the sports realm.  Anytime there are problems, or a coaching search going on in an athletic department, you see daily pieces citing inside sources, but no names. Nothing concrete.  And if you think about it, 90% of the time, they're just flat out wrong.  And most times, we are left to go, "Well, this guy is right more often than not."

This is true except when dealing with hopeful libtards. They hang on every sliver of negative news against Trump. It really is a syndrome. I love it when he crushes those hopes, but its to the point where we are going to break out into some sort of civil war soon. Unstable people on the left cannot keep up this emotional roller coaster ride!

He won’t respond with anything valid.  He just copies and pastes talking points from his heroes. He doesn’t comprehend any of this therefore he simply throws mud and points out stupid things, rhetoric, etc.

I respect wes for being able to hold an informed discussion even if I don’t agree with him on things.

Calling someone a dumb caveman...yet, doesn't know the difference between your and you're.

SMH

GH = -1
Me = Googolplex

And you don’t know the difference between on purpose and autocorrect. Idiot. And I believe you started the mudslinging with “dumb southerner”.

Seriously. Say when. Respond to something with substance. We’re waiting. Or is it wateing?

This is for Wes.  You claim that we are ruining the board and possibly this forum.  We used to debate logically, but when this drivel is spewed everyday you get what you got.  We get "do more research", "smh", "maybe you should read", and links. Never have I seen him respond point by point to a post.

I don't think it is us that is ruining the board, it's the lack of a Chizad, Garman, Tarheel and others that has ruined the SGA.

Chad and GF both tried this earlier this year I believe. He can’t do it. It ended up being a test case to show everyone.

Auto correct doesn't hit Post for you. Prove to the World that you aren't a "mentally retarded, dumb southerner" and proofread next time...it's really not that hard.

I know I started the mudslinging. And?

Are you only in favor of proofreading when it comes to typos? Sentence structure doesn’t make the list?

I just think, if someone is going to "smack talk", maybe they should learn how to spell. My feelings are far from being hurt, I didn't vote for the pile of garbage in office right now.

I get where you are coming from but I will add that I think that there should be less “smack” talk in general. We have someone like me, who can back it up, and then a bunch of loud mouth faggots who are basically big internet talkers.

You're wrong.  You've been consistently wrong about everything for more than two years.

Your personal and professional life is better with Trump as president.  That's not speculation or theory, it's proven by definable statistics and data.  It can't be argued.

Race relations are better now than they were at any time under the prior administration.  For all the bellyaching about Trump being racist, he's done more to actually improve the situation for black Americans than any president in memory.  Wages are up. Employment is up. Educational opportunities are up. He's not dividing the country with blatantly racist rhetoric.  Trayvon doesn't look like his son.

The economy is as strong as it has been in your entire lifetime.

Our relationships with foreign countries have reverted from bowing and scraping to again commanding the respect we once had.  It's been a painful process because our past president was so utterly weak.

No one has lost rights or freedoms.  Not the trans, not the pans, not the cis. No gender. No ethnicity.

And yet you've done nothing but bitch and complain.  You've mocked the man's appearance.  In doing so, you've offered absolutely zero substantive argument that his performance is deficient.  Instead you've parroted the absolute worst of the deep state loons whose idea of utopia is a small ruling government class controlling every aspect of your miserable life.

Everything you think you support is diametrically opposed to your own well-being.  And you don't seem to be self-aware enough to grasp that.

Trump has been a tremendous surprise.  Every dark cloud you and your kind predicted failed to materialize.  Instead, all he's done is succeed at levels that are unprecedented.  Even as the lunatic left yowls and obstructs, he's performed above and beyond all expectations.  He's a far greater president than I ever expected and if the idiot brigade would leave him alone for even six months I don't think there's any limit to the greatness he could bring.  It's just a shame that one of the (if not THE) greatest president in any of our lifetimes is forced to suffer the idiocy of the frightened political elite that spent decades trying to set up a socialist ruling class where they have all the power and all the money.

Instead of constantly complaining, you should be thanking the fates, the gods or whatever you believe in that Trump was elected and has slowed the expansion and intrusion of the political establishment.

The man truly is making America great again.  Accept it.

Youre getting into facts and logic again. And away from his wheelhouse of name calling and one liners. Be prepared for an appropriate response to get it back on the rails.

I stopped reading after "you're wrong, you've been constantly wrong about everything", because anyone that knows how to read will know that's a lie. Remember, I had all of your trophies, before I melted them all down and made a badass Nike Swoosh, then I put that on a gold rope chain.
