I've got 3 old used up car batteries I'm going to drop in the river on the way to the beach next week. When you drop them from the bridge, they make one heck of a splash.

Apparently none of you morons remember what Birmingham looked like in the early-mid 80s.
I do find it hilarious that y'all would be celebrating this, especially seeing as how it won't take affect until Dec. 2020.

Dude, get a grip. Not one poster is actually "celebrating" this. I posted that Trump said we're pulling out, followed by several jokes and one fact that the Dow Jones just hit it's highest number in history. Please to be pointing out the "morons" in this short thread.

Just curious, why do you think that the US should help finance this for other countries? Do you realize that by doing that, we are financing industry in other countries that will then compete against the same industries in the US?
Of course you don't. You're exactly what the left likes to see: someone who doesn't understand the "why" behind things. You simply respond to flashy headlines.

Stole this from a diving buddy of mine.
I think I will contact 195 of my Facebook friends with my concerns on political posts. The posts could possibly be harmful. I can donate $10,000 to them to reduce the amount of political posts. I will reduce mine by 18%. They can reduce theirs however they please...some waiting til 2030. After a year...I am probably gonna have to pay another $40,000 to aide them further. They have no restrictions to comply...just say they will do it. Not all of them are trustworthy to comply but that isn't important....the possible harmful posts are really all my fault anyway. Think I should call it a Paris accord
-
Stole this from a diving buddy of mine.
It hits the nail on the head. We're basically giving away free money to allow these other countries to develop industry that competes with ours. All the while, there is absolutely no mechanism to actually make them meet any standard or benchmark.

These mayors are NOT what made them great cities. But they are the ones that have taken them from being great cities to the shit holes they are today.

Prowler's so dumb he sticks his phone up his ass when he wants to make a booty call.

Remember back in '09 when Trump urged Obama to act on Climate Change. Yeah, those were the days. Good thing about this, some cities across the Country have stated that they were going to continue to abide by the Paris Agreement, regardless of Trump's decision. I expect more will follow their lead.

And that's fine. If NYC wants to raise taxes, so they can send it over seas, that's between their mayor and the residents of NYC. In fact, I think this is great. It gets the federal government out of something it shouldn't have been involved with in the first place. Who knew you guys were in favor of smaller federal government?

Okay. Since Prowler has turned me into a genius. Here's my fifteen and hour burger flipping opinion. It appears to me that the U.S. government has pulled out. Yet, with my investigating and mayors and businesses coming out and saying they will be continuing to work on reducing gas house emissions at the Paris Disagreement standards.. At their own expense. The businesses that will, and wouldn't have anyway, will continue not spending on doing so. The climate is going to change and China says we're meanies because they have been less accountable than almost any other country. While the US is held to the highest percentages and probably will keep to most of it per the CEOs of most major contributors out of the kindness of their hearts(sarcasm). This costs the US taxpayers nothing?.......................
I can live with that...just saying

This is exactly Trump's point. Again, you obviously did not watch or listen to his speech when he made the announcement. You absolutely do not get it. He flat out said we are going to keep doing what we are doing and be responsible stewards. He fully expects, and wants cities to take green initiatives. You simply don't understand the "why" behind pulling out of the Paris agreement. It was because we would be paying tens of billions of dollars to other countries with no strings attached. Literally just throwing money away, and financing industry in other countries. Then, you have China, who is in the agreement but has absolutely no intention of reducing emissions. It made absolutely no sense. If we're going to spend that amount of money, let's spend it or invest it into our own country.
Over the past decade, the US has reduced carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 20%. We are the cleanest country in the world. We did that without the Paris agreement. We did that without a ton of regulation. We did that, and will continue to do that, through free market innovation and dirt cheap natural gas (thanks to fracking). Compare that to the EU, who has devised policies against fracking and has supported programs to reduce carbon emissions. They have spent over $1 trillion dollars on wind, solar, and bio-energy programs and have actually steadily increased their emissions. Citizens in the EU pay over 2.5 times more for electricity than we do. Denmark generates 40% of its electricity from wind farms, and Germany generates over 30% of their electricity from renewable energy. Those two countries have the highest electricity costs in the EU. People in Great Britain pay over 50% more for electricity than we do. There are businesses leaving because of high energy costs, and the government can't subsidize fast enough.

That's what you're not getting; Trump WANTS them to have the mindset of doing what they can. That's the ENTIRE POINT. The US has become the cleanest country in the world because of innovation and cities taking initiative. Christ, you are stupid.

Agreed. And if you live in one of the cities, and disagree with it, you have a better chance of change than you do if this enforced at the national level.
-

As a taxpayer, I don;t want any monies leaving my city for compliance with a foreign accord. If the mayors are just talking about continuing with a good policy taking care of the environment, then that is common sense and does not fall under a foreign accord. But apparently they wanted to make a statement against the president. That is not common sense if you ever expect to receive federal money. I agree with local government first, but pick a fight worthy. This is not it.

While I think this is written as a big "Fuck You" to the President, it is not written where any money is being paid. It is written as saying they will continue to strive for the goals that the treaty said about climate. That's it from my understanding.
So in reality, this bullshit "honor", is doing nothing but playing in to EXACTLY why Trump left the paris accord in the first place. We will continue to do the "common sense" thing, while not paying $1 Billion to other countries...

His "consensus" can kiss my ass. When he's posting charts from that show less than 200 years of data, he can kiss my ass.
Show me 10,000 years worth of data and then we can talk. The earth goes through warming and cooling cycles. Historical evidence shows that clearly. We're in a warming cycle. Somewhere down the road we'll be in a cooling cycle and all the "scientists" will shit their collective pants over the coming ice age.
