Motley Crue embodied the image of hard partying, hard drinking, self destructive, rock and roll. Nikki Sixx was the poster child. If you haven't read his Heroin Diaries I suggest it highly. It's a peek inside a mind and a life on fire. When the only viable vein you can find in which to inject heroin is in your dick? When you escape from the hospital after having been revived from a near fatal OD and you shoot up again while still in your hospital gown? Yeah. You are excess personified.
Crue put on a damn fine controlled chaos concert too.
Nikki now clean and sober hosts a rock radio show that's carried on TK101 down here. I sometimes flip it on when I'm in the truck at night. He's pretty entertaining and the music on the show is nice and crunchy.
What I can't get used to is fuck-the-world Nikki doing product ad spots.
Hearing him read a script and close with the tagline "That's NAPA know how" is almost more than I can bear.
