Auburn's at the White House.

So let's get Danny Sheridan to come on and say that his sources have told him that Cam Newton is still being heavily investigated by the NCAA because they're confident they'll prove he was given money to play at Auburn.

I know I shouldn't have turned him on.

Oh and Ohio State's fucked.

Let's see..THE Ohio State University thing is just getting started.  I can't recall exactly which school it was but North Carolina or somebody just got their letter last week from the NCAA.  Tennessee goes in front of the infractions committee this weekend....

Just who is it that's "Heavily investigating" Cam Newton?

Hey bammers, the NCAA isn't investigating Cam...regardless of what your mouthpiece would lead you to believe.  Also rws, I'll ask the question again...who's skewing this rivalry?  Yeah, it is your own inbred nation.

Its simple guys - quit listening to the fuck face. Best way to make an impact on a radio show is to NOT listen. Arbitron = Ad Dollars = Life blood of a show.

I wind up listening about 5-10 minutes each day on the way home.  I'd have to guess that if I listen 5 days, that on 4 of them I just shake my head at how F'n retarded his callers are.  It's like they're all lined up in the parking lot at a 7-11 in Cullman, waiting to be next to use the payphone to call Paawwwl.

I used to tune in occasionally just because I was in the car, but I shut it off altogether now. Its like Jerry Springer on the radio. By listening to him, I am keeping him on the air in such a wide market. I still like the classics like Shane vs Verno last summer, only because it embarassed the mullet nation.

In all seriousness, we had a guy get walked out by security, come to find out, he had been surfing porn at work.   When I wasn't located at our corporate building our boss didn't filter or sniff traffic, said it was useless and he didn't have the man power to monitor it all day and nothing was blocked.   We had a guy in our office that use to surf porn all day and would hit us admins up to clean up his machine that was eat up with viruses.  I set it up to where I could image his drive for him at the end of everyday, scan it for viruses and then restore it.    Always took me out for a free lunch for it.   I miss that job!

I get hit with a notification page when I click on a link that has been blocked by big brother.  It lets me know that they have logged my attempt to get on a blocked site, and it tells me why they have it blocked.  I'm really surprised that they haven't blocked the X.

We don't log really, I mean there is a server, but they are not officially monitoring us.  We have too many people and they just set up filters for categories.

So damn glad me and the IT director are really good drinking buddies or I would be up shit creek.  He has taken me out of the list and has given me rights and permissions that others don't have.

Hell, they use to have Facebook and youtube blocked from here. Not that I give a shit about FB but for whatever reason none of that is blocked anymore, well at least from my cpu. Over a year ago IT had a team of us to development Tekla (3d modeling) to fit what we were looking for. I think they lifted blocks on certain things for this purpose. There a whole lot of folks employed here as well. I figure its set up like what you mentioned with basically a server that may log these events but no one is actually sitting behind the monitor screening every little move.

Simp:  They have FB on a time quota and do have Youtube blocked as they do all streaming media. No ESPN videos for AUT1.  FB fall under the category of Social Networks/Blogs and they used to have those blocked until I went and raised hell about a CISCO blog being blocked and I needed access to get a switch config off of it.  They started putting a time limit.  Photobucket or anything labeled personal storage is blocked as well.

Maybe Tigra... The first chick looks like she would be a Michigan fan.

Poison Ivy is a bad girl... Which might be ok sometimes...

I was mainly referring to the lack of redheads in the first picture someone posted. Black hair, brown hair and a blonde... No redheads.

Yeah, but she is a second tier - more of a sidekick role.  Do you really think I would settle for that?

Okay so last night, I went in Barnes & teh Nobles with the Mrs.  Looking around and saw where there's a pretty recent book about Finebong.  Of course, I had to flip through it because I saw a big section in the middle with pics (I only read books with pictures)  Anywho, all these are probably on his website, which I haven't been to in a while, but I was actually stunned to see what some of these plant callers looked like.

Shit-for-brains from Sinnerpoint...seen his pathetic mug several times.  Charles from Reeltown has got to be putting on an act.  No way this guy really talks or acts like he does in his calls.  There was one pic of Legend and he looks (Just from the pic) much younger  than he sounds and as for Tammy...same as with Charles...has to be all schtick.  The one pic they had of her showed a pretty normal looking, decently dressed girl.  Phyllis from Mulga...yeeeesh.

"I don't agree, and you know, Paul, it's not a tainted championship. As we sit here today, it is a well deserved championship."

Whoa whoa whoa. How bout that lawyer speak? Real slick huh? "As we sit here today?"

It's gotten far worse from here.

Gene Chizik bought & paid for a fraud National Championship.

Idiot barners have the audacity to pick and choose the last 25 years when talking football instead of 10 years that have come and gone 30 years ago.

And on and on.

He's working the bammers in to a summer/off season frenzy so that they can continue to talk about the ongoing investigation, and how "the truth" will eventually come out.  Which is code for "what we desperately want to hear, what we really believe in our black bammer hearts but know there's no evidence of, will come out".

This is my problem.

I want sports talk sometimes.  Sometimes the musical selection is old.  Most of the time the political talk is hackneyed.  I need some sports.  Some news.  Something that mentions Auburn football.

All we have is Finebaum.

Ill hang up and listen now.

The problem is, I don't give a shit about the Lebron James, Tiger Woods, Bret Favre, NASCAR and baseball in general, or any of that mundane shit that national sports shows want to talk about.

I need to hear about what's going on with Auburn and Alabama. That's all I care about really. The 20 minute ride home from work is all the Saints talk I need, but my Auburn/Alabama craving is insatiable.

So what's this Sportscall you speak of. I can't try it out without any more info than that. What station? What are the call letters? Do you have a link?

I have a feeling it will be hollow though. Go too far the other way where it's all unicorns and roses, and you have an AUFamily situation, where it's just boring. Add to that, I highly doubt there will be guests in the same stratosphere as any of the JOX shows, much less Finebaum.

But I'm willing to give it a shot if you give me more info.

You can listen to the streaming audio online but unless you live in an area that you can pick it up on the radio, you want be able to listen to it on your ride home. I don't think you can get it on the XM.

Here is what you will see on the sites front page:

Also, with TuneIn radio, there is an option to browse the web. I've never used that option and don't know if it works for streaming audio or not, but I don't even see where to play it. If you click "Listen Live" it says "Click the player to listen live", but there is no said player.

Mon, Jun 2 2008"Hurt Locker" lawsuit target pirates

By Eriq Gardner

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - The war against movie piracy is getting downright explosive.

The producers of "The Hurt Locker" are preparing a massive lawsuit against tens of thousands of people who pirated the Oscar-winning drama online. The case could be filed as soon as Wednesday.

Voltage Pictures, the film's financier, has signed up with the U.S. Copyright Group, a Washington D.C.-based venture that has begun a litigation campaign targeting users of the BitTorrent peer-to-peer (P2P) service.

"The Hurt Locker" first leaked onto the web more than five months before its U.S. release last June, and was a hot item in P2P circles after it won six Oscars in March, including best picture and director. Despite the accolades, the film grossed only about $16 million in the U.S.

The U.S. Copyright Group has already filed lawsuits over about 10 other films, including German filmmaker Uwe Boll's "Far Cry," "Call of the Wild 3D" and "Uncross the Stars." Reports of those suits raised alarms in some circles, whereas others joked that the movie industry was merely suing those with poor taste.

"You can guess that relative to the films we've pursued already, the order of magnitude is much higher" with "Hurt Locker," said Thomas Dunlap, a lawyer at the firm.

If the addition of "Locker" to this litigation campaign could shake things up, so too could news about cooperation by Internet Service Providers (ISP) in this escalating fight. After filing the lawsuits, the plaintiffs must subpoena ISP records in an effort to match IP addresses with illicit behavior on BitTorrent.

According to lawyers at Dunlap's firm, 75% of ISPs have cooperated fully. Those that have resisted are mostly doing so, they say, because of the amount of work involved in handing over thousands of names. But the clock may be ticking. For example, in the lawsuit over "Far Cry," Comcast has until next Wednesday to file motions to quash subpoenas. By the end of next week, thousands of Comcast subscribers could be turned over.

Of the some 50,000 individuals who have been sued thus far, only three have tried to quash the subpoena. In one instance, a Georgia man tried to invoke the state's shield law protecting journalists from having to disclose their sources. The judge denied the motion. In another instance, a woman successfully got a court to throw out the subpoena because her IP address wasn't listed in the original complaint. Unfortunately for her, the complaint was then amended.

After unmasking individuals who have illegally downloaded films, the U.S. Copyright Group then sends a modest settlement offer. Lawyers at the firm are seeing some returns on the first two lawsuits filed back in January. About 40% have settled, according to the U.S. Copyright Group. Those who haven't settled will be sent another round of settlement offers, and the group promises to eventually serve lawsuits on these individuals.

Since news first broke about the litigation campaign, Dunlap says he's been besieged by e-mails from 20 to 30 independent film groups that have expressed frustration about rampant piracy and interest in joining up. The firm plans to send people to the Cannes Film Festival, where they've already arranged meetings with a number of other film producers to discuss further lawsuits.

'Hurt Locker' lawsuit targets 24,583 BitTorrent users for illegal downloads

Did you download "The Hurt Locker" with BittTorrent? You may be facing a lawsuit.

"The Hurt Locker" won an Oscar for best motion picture last year and grossed $17 million at the U.S. box office.

Now, according to TorrentFreak, the makers of the movie, Voltage Pictures, have filed a multi-million dollar copyright infringement lawsuit.

The lawsuit is targeting 24,583 alleged BitTorrent users making it the biggest file-sharing lawsuit the world has ever witnessed.

If only 10,000 of the alleged infringers pay a $2,000 settlement this would bring in $20 million which is $3 million more than the movie grossed in the U.S.

Most of the defendants are subscribers of Comcast (10,532), followed by Verizon (5,239), Charter (2,699) and Time Warner (1,750).

It may take years to look up all the personal details in the various BitTorrent lawsuits.

The goal is not to take any of the individual cases to court, but to get alleged infringers to pay a substantial cash settlement to make legal action go away.
I got cease and desists from Charter for both of these movies...

Legally speaking, let's say you own a copy of the Hurt Locker on DVD, and were downloading it just so you could watch on your iPad or something.  Is that still a violation?  What's the difference between ripping a copy, then converting it to mp4 format Vs just downloading an mp4 version of it?

I can tell you Bill Cameron has been around the CFB scene longer than Finescum has. Maybe not as well known but he keeps it real... No, not unicorns and rainbows all the time. Just real "in the middle" and informative. He used to have Jeff Lee and David Pascal on a lot and they were real good. I haven't heard them much lately. He does have B. Matthews and P. Marshall on pretty regularly though. 95% of what they discuss is AU/UA. They will touch on the Braves a little. Not much. The thing I like about this show is that it is caller driven. They are free to discuss whatever they wish in the world of sports, although 9 of 10 will talk about AU FB. Of course in the fall, they discuss High School sports a lot as well. I first listened to this show in 1999 (my last year at Auburn) and have been ever since. Finebaum is nothing but Jerry Springer.

The thing about PF's show is you'd better be listening for the sheer enjoyment of pathetic smack.  Outside of his guests, and Lord knows I have no idea why anyone goes on his show, there is absolutely zero substance.  I guarantee you PF could not name one starter coming back on Bama's line.  He knows Lord Saybinz' fast food eating habits but he knows exactly squat about football.  He can rip Mark Richt or some hapless AD or whoever is on the hotseat at that particular time, but he can't tell you anything about what defense Ted Roof runs.

Just not what his show is about.
