Title: Draft Tonight...
Post by: wesfau2 on April 22, 2010, 10:22:19 AM
So, Bradford or Suh as #1?

Do the Rams roll the dice on a QB (historically a bad call) or do they trade down and go for quantity since they need people all over the field?

Ben Tate: Over under is set at Round 4.  What say ye?

Tim Tebow: Over under at Round 2.  What say ye?

I would go with Suh at #1 if I were the rams and pick up a QB via trade.

Ben Tate - late 2nd early third round surprise.

Tebow - 2nd round.

Suh or McCoy #1. DTs like those are rare. #1 is just too high to take Bradford. I think in any other draft hes not even Top 5/10. Someone will get a steal on Earl Thomas from Texas. He is projected late 1st Round when he is probably as good as Berry.

Ha!  I keep all that shit turned off, so I didn't even realize that GF had changed it.

As would I.

I like the optimism.

Quote
Tebow - 2nd round.

I also believe he will go higher than most "experts" are projecting.

Chris Todd will be the fifth QB taken. MARK IT!

Puff, puff, give, man.

The land of Cleaves.

They certainly need a QB, but I still think that there's better value to be had later.  I am just not that sold on Bradford.

I might be proven wrong over the next few years, but I think he will be a better NFL quarterback than Clausen.

I might be able to agree with that on my feeling that Clausen will be a huge bust.

Note to Kaos: Clausen is all hat, no cattle.

He does have a spiffy speedo, however, that he shows off to his "boys".

Can't say that I've ever cared less about a draft.

I'll be watering my grass.

You'll get better results if you water in the morning or early evening.  Primetime Thursday night is not optimal.

exactly. he is no better out of college than quinn was. Cleveland is a graveyard for QBs since Kosar.

I agree with this statement.

Signed,

If it's my team, a boy named Sue is #1.  Bradford will go first, though.  Tate's 40 time and 225 lb. reps of 26 will push him to late 2nd round.  Tebow in the 3rd.

Word of warning though...I have been wrong before.

You're going to want to count this as one of those times.

No fucking way Bradford goes first. I would take McCoy over Bradford...

Suh #1

Tebow goes no later than second round....obviously not to Dallas.

I also put some money on Tate going late second early third.

I don't think I would want a top 10 pick at all.  Stafford got what, 6 years $72 million last year, with over $40 million guaranteed?  That's crazy.

If I was St Louis I would take Suh or Okung or Gerald McCoy at 1, then come back with the first pick of the second round and take Colt McCoy.  To me, he's not all that different than Bradford.

His pro-day work out was supposedly very impressive, and he would come dirt cheap compared to Bradford at #1.

The problem with a Dome team taking McCoy is that his vag might bleed all over your turf.

This is without trades...there will more than likely be some trades, but this is my best guess.  Lets see how close I am.  I'll put my picks in parenthesis and I'll keep it updated.

#1. St. Louis - Sam Bradford, QB Oklahoma (Sam Bradford)

#2. Detroit - Ndamukong Suh, DT Nebraska (Ndamukong Suh)

#3. Tampa Bay - Gerald McCoy, DT Oklahoma (Gerald McCoy)

#4. Washington - Trent Williams, OT Oklahoma (Russell Okung)

#5. Kansas City - Eric Berry, S Tennessee (Eric Berry)

#6. Seattle - Russell Okung, OT Oklahoma St. (Trent Williams)

#7. Cleveland - Joe Haden, CB Florida (C.J. Spiller)

#8. Oakland - Rolando McClain, MLB SPuat (Anthony Davis)

#9. Buffalo - C.J. Spiller, RB Clemson (Jimmy Clausen)

#10. Jacksonville - Tyson Alualu, DT California (Earl Thomas)

#11. San Francisco by way of trade with Denver - Anthony Davis, OT Rutgers (Rolando McClain)

#12. San Diego by way of trade with Miami - Ryan Matthews, RB Fresno State (Sergio Kindle)

#13. Philadelphia by way of trade with Denver after Denver trade with San Francisco - Brandon Graham, DE/OLB Michigan (Joe Haden)

#14. Seattle - Earl Thomas, S Texas (Jason Pierre-Paul)

#15. New York Giants - Jason Pierre-Paul, DE USF (Dan Williams)

#16. Tennessee - Derrick Morgan, DE Georgia Tech (Derrick Morgan)

#17. San Francisco - Mike Iupati, OG Idaho (Mike Iupati)

#18. Pittsburgh - Maurkice Pouncey, C Florida (Demaryius Thomas)

#19. Atlanta - Sean Weatherspoon, OLB Mizzo (Sean Weatherspoon)

#20. Houston - Kareem Jackson, CB SPuat (Ryan Matthews)

#21. Cincinnati - Jermaine Gresham, TE Oklahoma (Jermaine Gresham)

#22. Denver by way of trade with New England - Demaryius Thomas, WR Georgia Tech (Jared Odrick)

#23. Green Bay - Brian Bulaga, OT Iowa (Taylor Mays)

#24. Dallas by way of trade with New England after trade with Denver and after trade with Philadelphia - Dez Bryant, WR Oklahoma St. (Kyle Wilson)

#25. Denver by way of trade with Baltimore - Tim Tebow, QB Florida (Jerry Hughes)

#26. Arizona - Dan Williams, DT Tennessee (Dez Bryant)

#27. New England by way of trade with Dallas - Devin McCourty, CB Rutgers (Charles Brown)

#28. Miami by way of trade with San Diego - Jared Odrick, DT Penn State (Terrence Cody)

#29. N.Y. Jets - Kyle Wilson, CB Boise State (Everson Griffen)

#30. Detroit by way of trade with Minnesota - Jahvid Best, RB California (Devin McCourty)

#31. Indianapolis - Jerry Hughes, OLB TCU (Kareem Jackson)

#32. New Orleans - Patrick Robinson, CB FSU (Daryl Washington)

Cleveland Browns will probably trade back up into the 1st Round, if they don't make a trade with St. Louis, for the Saints pick and they'll take Colt McCoy

Ben Tate - Mid 3rd Round

Tebow - Mid 2nd Round

These guys all clearly get on each other's nerves.  It's uncomfortable as fuck to watch.  I love it.  :silence:

Denver made a good choice.  Now, what are they going to do with Cutler?

They'll probably fire up the flux capacitor and trade him to Chicago in April, 2009.

Seriously though, they recently traded for Brady Quinn...and I wonder what he was thinking when he saw them take Tebow.

Similarly, I wonder what Marshawn Lynch thought in Buffalo when they took C.J. Spiller.

Choose your poison.  I'll send you a $50 gift card from there.  You could make it easy and choose some place that Target sells cards for like Chilis or Olive Garden or Outback.

Or better yet, give me the name of a restaurant where you are and I'll call them and have the certificate waiting on you when you go.

It's worth it to me for the humor portion, knowing that poor little Jimmy sat there all night waiting for his phone to ring.

McGuires in Destin - been a while for me. Love them baked taters with teh salts.

They are awful proud of their steaks. I asked for A1 once and they got downright offended.

They are awful proud of their steaks.

I find their prices to be very reasonable for the quality meat they serve.

I was at the McGuires in Pcola in March for my birthday and had the 16 oz. smoked and grilled prime rib steak. THE BEST $25 I ever spent. Sweet Jesus, that was a good steak. Didn't need any sort of sauce or anything. I would agree that their food is expensive, but you certainly get what you pay for.

Their smoked prime rib is amazing.  If I'm not eating burgers there, the smoked prime rib is my meal.

I don't think they're all that expensive.  $25 for a 1lb prime rib cut that is awesome?  A pittance.

But your pizza comes with smoking hot tits and ass.

I usually get a burger as well. All of their beef is ridiculous.

Speaking of burgers, I ate possibly one of the best burgers I have ever had at Schooners in PCB over the weekend.

Schooners has been there forever. I mean - FOREVERRRRRRRR! And yes the burger is good.

Wes - I put a condiment/sauce on any meat, I dont care how tender or tasty it is - just my personal taste. So McGuire's can go fuck themselves.  Their prices weren't bad. They were just real stuck up about it when you dont eat it like they want you to eat it.   (thats what she said...)

Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks, but if the meat is tasty on its own...and you're throwing down some coin....why would you want it to taste the same as a Waffle House steak?  That is, it'll all end up tasting like A1, so why ever spring for a good cut of meat?

Though I like A-1, I understand what you're saying.  Not ashamed to admit that I'll use A-1 from time to time, but on a good steak, I'll eat most of it just the way God intended.  Rare plus, no sauce.

Since a cow is split hoofed and "chews the cud" you are technically correct sir.

I literally can't order a steak when I go out.  It all pales in comparison to the filets I get at a local butcher with their "Dust".  I just can't bear to pay the kinds of prices they charge only to go, "Yeah, but it's not like a Cellar filet.

BTDub..the grilled oysters at Acme in Destin on a cracker with smoke flavored Tobasco washed down with Makers Mark....DA TITZ!!!!!

Agree, nobody (not for a decent price), can do steak like I can do when I go to my local butcher.  I like the rub they use too, but it's very similar to this: http://www.southernflavor.com/ (http://www.southernflavor.com/) which is made in Selma, AL.

I'm in need of a new grill and lately have done mine in a hot oven.  Simplicity rules with good meat...

Take a good Ribeye (my fave, use the cut you like...NY Strip is my #2), let come to room temp.  Pre-heat oven to 450, and preheat iron skillet in oven as well.  Rub down steak with Extra Virgin Olive Oil, sprinkle Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper on steak.  When the oven and skillet are heated, turn on stove eye to Med-High.  Put skillet on eye, steak in skillet.  1 min. per side on eye.  Move to oven finish with 1.5 min per side in oven.  Allow to rest 10 minutes.  Enjoy.  On a 1" thick cut, this will yeild just under Med Rare with a very nice sear on the outside of the steak. For rare you can go just stove top, or just oven.  Adjust as needed for thicker steaks.

This man knows.

If you venture beyond S&P (with a minor forgiveness for olive oil and/or garlic....never, ever, ever garlic salt), then you might as well be eating Steak-umms.

Fuck Dales, Montreal Seasoning and any other fucking thing that tries to convince you that the meat needs help.

Using that method, garlic will burn and get bitter...garlic powder might be ok, but I don't need it or use it.  Absolutely no garlic salt.

A recipe I have tweaked over the years that I do both inside in the skillet and on the grill, involves a separate sauce that I sometimes put inside the filet or just pour it over the top at the end.  In the skillet, mix red wine, garlic, portobella shrooms and finish with blue cheese.  I'm a fan of teh blue cheeses on occasion...not always.  This is one of them.
