Title: Calipari a Hog?
Post by: Kaos on April 08, 2024, 08:00:28 AM
It’s kind of a win win if Kentucky’s Calipari actually goes to Arky.  For them I mean.

Kentucky gets rid of a guy they had lost faith in and didn’t really want any longer without having to pay the huge buyout.

Arkansas gets a name with (perhaps unwarranted) national prestige. Gives the appearance they are a major player.

My bammer friends are convinced Bruce Pearl has already signed a contract.  There, at Louisville, and at Ohio State.

And please don't let it be Billy Donovan to Kentucky.

Yea. I'm hearing that a lot from them these days. I would hate to lose him. I think he wants to retire here. Howevert UK can/will throw a lot of money around for what they want.

My serious guess....it will either be Billy the old kid or Scott Drew to the BBN.

An old name. Would they actually pull the lever on Pitino again?

That name is being thrown out a lot, but it's all speculation at this point. One guy I think would kick booty there is Creighton Coach, Greg McDermott.  The guy has a great system and does a ton with lesser talent.  (Okay, white guys)

Please to be leaving Calipari alone while he walks his dog.

Yeah but UK wants to do more with more Snags. And  being at a Jesuit school in Nebraska must be the next best thing to basketball heaven...if you're white.

Mark Pope???

All of the biggest names in college basketball, from Hurley to Drew to Pitino, Pearl, Oats and Donovan from the NBA....and Kentucky hires BYU's coach?

A collective, "WHAT THE...?" was heard streaming out of Big Blue Country.

Is it done?  Every bammer I know swears there is a back channel deal for Pearl.

It's being reported on like it's a done deal.

Not equating the two as coaches, but this is similar to the Harsin hire.  25 names bandied about for the Auburn position, and then out of the blue....Bryman Hatpin.

Think it's more like the Mike Shula hire.

Agree. Never heard McDermott mentioned in the Kentucky search other than own Snags.
