Title: October is festival time
Post by: jmar on September 15, 2018, 12:54:31 PM
Hofbrau Munchen /bottle 6.3 ABV is delicious by 4th Reich standards. Bready, nothing fancy just very good beer.

Jekyll Island Seven Bridges /can 5.3 ABV is a bit sweeter but damn good and my current favorite early on.

Sam Adams meh. Actually liked Shiner better.

Sierra Nevada was a disappointment having co-created with Wehephensteiner (sp) Was expecting a blockbuster of sorts.
Fell far short.

I’m an Octoberfest guy, and I like to try different brews.  Well tonight I tried Cahaba breweries version and it sucks.  Why in the hell did they decide to make an Octoberfest beer bitter?

Unsure. I'm all about some tweaking of ingedients or some seasonals that change from year to year but not a fan of this crazy exotic shit for the sake of being different. Just make good beer.

The latest Bell's Marzen is tasty by my standards.
Still searching for others.

Sierra Nevada now has a nice Octoberfest brew for 2019. Collaborated with Bitburger Brewery this is a 6.0 Marzen that's really smooth and refreshing. I recommend!
