Title: Missouri Game
Post by: Godfather on September 21, 2017, 11:31:44 AM
What do we think?

Will it be a Mercer game of 24-10 or a 44-10 type game.  I am fairly confident we win, Missouri is probably the worst team in the SEC.

Auburn is an 18 point favorite and the O/U is 59.5

I don't think we cover the spread, and I would take the under.

I think the Bubbacat ($1 to jmar) rolls up at least 250 yards this week and scores at will.

I just hope the bus can get there through all the street protests.

I have no reason to believe it will be anything other than another Mercer like outing.

Just want injury free win.
17 points ok.
We need all hands on deck next week for the most physical test we will get all season...yeah even the Turds.
This will be a no holds barred, cage match and if we don't get absolutely nasty those cheap shot bastards will embarrass us on our own field again.

I've seen State 3 times at JH and they won all three. Forget the talent disparity, they don't give a shit.

Mizzou may be less effective than mercer. They bad. And as snags has said, take those 5 turnovers away and it's not close. How many games are we going to have 5+ turnovers in? I wouldn't think its gonna be the norm. Our glaring issues in each game aside I don't see us doing that in this game. And if this team is no better than the two cupcakes we already played......now I've jinxed us.

38-10 for the Orange and Blew Tigers.

The only problem I had with the entire game against Mercer on either side of the ball was the stubborn misuse of Pettway. (Not counting turnovers, only focusing on the game plans) It appeared that Malzahn was either smart enough or took enough shit to realize the plan against Clemson bordered on insanity.  Insanity was defined by the Clemson game last year.  It was obvious someone knew things had to be changed up offensively and they did, with the exception of the running game.

My hope is that Malzahn is again, either smart enough or has taken enough shit to realize they have to get more innovative and use more bodies in the running game.  If he does, then we stomp some left-wing, Antifa ass Saturday.

We should win by 4 TDs. Probably win by 10-14. I'm okay with that because next week we need a heap of execution and serious bad- assed attitude to beat State considering what I've seen so far.

Everyone's hope, but I think we all know deep down inside he's not smart enough to change anything. He thinks his way will work if just keeps trying to hammer that round peg. I hope we win and beat the shit out of them and everybody. I am expecting more of the same. Up the middle, up the middle, stupid pass play. Punt. Based on what I read here Mizzu is really bad, so is our coach.   We win 9-2?.  And then on Monday we get the "We are getting better". blah, blah, blah.  3+ plus years of his inability to develop talent, have  different schemes, not beating anyone worth a shit has just become too much to worry about.

Don't hold your breath while you hope, I don't want to give you CPR.  I'm done hoping Malzahn will do anything.  The problem with what you said above is that you have said it every year.

Also, why does it take him an entire game to figure this shit out, I had it figured out at about the 8:23 mark in the 2nd quarter against Clemson.

Oh I'm not saying I disagree with any of that, including the fact that I've said time and time again that if Malzahn would just do what he said he would do....  And no, I've long since stopped trusting in the fact that he would.  My take is simply that Auburn is going to line up against Missouri Saturday and Malzahn is going to be running the show.  I want him or Lindsey or Jacobs or Tim Jackson or someone to do whatever it takes to call the right game to win and hopefully, convincingly.

Somebody recognized something and changed the game plan for this past Saturday.  Eliminate the turnovers and we ring up 50+ and 700+ yards. Maybe somebody will recognize what needs to be tweaked (RUNNING GAME!!!!!!!!) and make the changes for this Saturday.  As long as the players are busting their collective asses, I'm going to hold out hope. Not for Malzahn, but for Auburn.

CREED, bitches!  Although, I though Scott Stapp tried too hard to copy Eddie Vedder.

Tomorrow:

Up early to start the coals on the Big Green Egg and slap on about a 6 pound slab of pig to smoke all day.

Go get a game day workout and run a few errands, which will include picking up a couple of racks of baby backs, veggie tray, boiled peanuts and other assorted snacks and Sweetwater IPA.

Come back home, tend to the coals.  A little yard work.  Clean up and mix up a Bloody Mary and turn on some Game Day.

Spend the rest of the day until some friends come over and the AU game starts, playing with my meat and sipping on cold IPA's.

Then we kick some Left Wing Tiger ass.

Bets on first play called on opening drive? I am guessing the JS to KP hold the ball out, but let him take up the middle for 1/2 yard while the outside DE crashes in and leaves the outside open for what would be about a 10 to 15 yard gain.

Report, please.  What was the stadium, atmosphere etc. like?  Were the fans pissed or just resigned to the fact that they suck?

Honestly, I've been to Conference USA games that had better atmosphere.  Stadium was...  nice..  I guess.  It couldn't have been more than 60% full.

Fans were really nice.  Plenty of tailgate invites, and yes, resigned to the face that they suck.  Told us how happy they are to be in the SEC, and that we should come back when they are competitive.  Inside the stadium, and we were on the alumni side, no shoot talking from fans, but again, I expect that's because we opened a can of whup ass on them.  Even the late hit on Stidham and the mystery fumble didn't get too many grumbles "if we get those calls, just prolongs the inevitable"

They do a cheer on first down where the announcer yells out "M-I-Z" and the crowd responds "Z-O-U" and it was flat out sad to hear the crowd yell it.  The player that brought the most excitement was the punter, who got MVP cheers.

By the third quarter, my MU buddy asked for the keys to the car, so he could go drink.

Traffic wise, took about 20 minutes to get on the interstate, and we were literally parked across the street in the athletic complex parking lot (would be like parking at Haley Center).  There is a Popeye's about 3 blocks from the stadium.

He didn't have any left.  Getting blown out 31-7 at the half tends to do that.

I complained about the MIZ - ZOU cheer after the SEC CG in 2013.

Almost sparked a fight when we started adding M-O-U-S-E.  That was my idea and actually starting to gain traction.

My Illinois friends alter it to MIZ-OUT during College Basketball Season.

I got asked to leave a family reunion for singing this one:

Fuck Alabama, redneck fucks
fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck fuck, fuck, fuck, fucktity fuck
Go fuck your mother, if she shaves
Or go fuck your granny if she's not in the grave
If you can't fuck your mother, that's a shame
Maybe fuck your sister, it works out just the same
Fuck off, fuck off, fuck offffff, then...

I never got any further.  Was silenced.

How did I immediately recognize that as sung to the tune of the Allerbammer fight song?
