Title: Lost out West

Harrell got two quick fouls, sat early and Auburn got behind and stayed behind.
Bowers, it appears will get his on a regular basis but this team is not fun to watch without Mason in the lineup.

I think Pearl is going to realize soon just how difficult this job is going to be.  Opening night, nothing else going on in town, and the arena was half full.  Then two road games and get blown out.

If he turns Auburn into a perennial tournament team, even as a 9 or 10 seed, it'll be one of the better coaching jobs I've ever seen.

If Pearl cant turn this program around you might as well shut it down and save the money.

I don't expect the arena to be full every game but it is disappointing for it to only be half full. Still, this isn't an easy climb but I feel Pearl will have us winning more and faster than any other coach we could have hired.

Too soon to start making tourney plans. He will get us there.

Well, you cant expect Gus to just run the score up against one of the rungs in his coaching ladder do you?

35 is pretty respectable with our backups. Hopefully JJ got some significant snaps.

We'll see how cruddy we are when we face Oregon State.  Their program stinks like a beaver on the rag.

I'm confident Pearl will have this program back to competitiveness and tournament play quickly.

He's just holding on right now and waiting for Atewe and Mason to get back in the rotation...and crossing his fingers for Trayvon Reed's waiver to come through.  If he gets all three for the conference run, look out.

He didn't run all his offense because he didn't want to show Kentucky everything.

I didn't watch too much of it.  What little I did watch told me we had another night where we couldn't buy a basket.  The box score told me the same thing.  What Buzz said, we get Atewe and Mason back in the lineup and Reed comes in, we should be in pretty good shape come SEC schedule time.

Y'all were bashing Chizadly about his ZOMG football unreasonable expectations, but if even one of y'all were seriously expecting Bruce to take us to the tourney this season, you are smoking majorly bad crack.  I have no doubt that he can turn Auburn into a tourney team - he's done it everywhere he has ever been - but not his year, and maybe not next year.  Give the man some room and a fucking chance, willya?

Mason is coming back and we have another big guy coming in from JUCO in a couple of weeks. I like the way they play and are going to win some games. I will be surprised if they don't make at least NIT and won't be syurprised if they make NCAA.

35 is girls high school basketball bad.

Was a weird night.  I watched part of it, Auburn had like 15 points in the first five or six minutes and then went to sleep.  Part of the problem?  Three pointers.  Missed 20 of 22.  Missed 20 threes.  That's 60 points.  Only got 10 offensive boards.

Bowers had a double double but they couldn't feed him on every play.

By the time the SEC schedule comes around you'll see that this game was an aberration.  I expect to go to the tournament.

Yeah we lost again. Without Mason we are just bad. With him we have a chance to be about eighth or ninth best in the SEC.
Why? We have Bruce Pearl. And Bruce Pearl has no bench, only minutes to rest his starters.

I just read that they were SEC refs last night.  That was a bullshit game.  So many ticky tack calls against us while Texas Tech was mauling our players especially in the second half.

And Barry Booker or whatever his name was should be removed from the booth.  Fucker giggled like a little girl every time Auburn made a mistake.

Yeah I hear you. But it won't get any easier when Bowers gets doubled and either Mason or Harrell aren't on.
We play good defense, can get about 20 total rebounds and 8 assists.
To offset the shortfall we need to get to the line by the dribble-drive or depend on shooting a very high
percentage which has to happen anyway to steal a few from better teams.

We scored 44.  Coming off 35 two games ago.

The thing is, even when Mason comes back, I can't see it making that much difference. Maybe a little but the problem is, teams know they only have to defend the perimeter with Auburn.  Bowers is a wide body and mixes it up inside but he's no real scoring threat.  AU just works it around the perimeter for most of the shot clock with the occasional drive.  If they're hitting 3's, we have a chance.  Otherwise, we're going to see a lot of scores in the 50's this year.

I have faith in Pearl.  He's won everywhere he's been and he'll turn this thing around as soon as he gets some bodies on the court.  But I have to say, last night was fun if you like good college round ball.  Not AU round ball.  But the ACC/Big 10 Challenge just puts so many quality match ups out there.  Watched a good bit of Meatchicken State and ND. Then Duke and Wisconsin.  Very surprised Duke went up there and took that one. But the Badgers are fun to watch when you have 6'10" and 7' guys consistently stepping out and draining 3's like it's nothing.

Yeah when you watch 3 or 4 top ten matchups it becomes evident that we have a ways to go. LSU, UGA and Alabama are pretty good teams from what I've seen.

I was pissed.  Every five seconds the refs were calling ticky tacky, chicken shit fouls and then when someone was murdered on a play they would let it go.  It went both ways too, but more so against us than them.  They let that Odiase guy beat and bang all night.  I was also surprised that the announcers could talk with Odiase's dick in their mouth because they were sucking him off every other second.

Lang is making freshmen mistakes but should be a solid player for us.  We need Mason and we need Reed to get in school.  Reed gives Bowers help down low.  Mason is a good enough shooter that you have to account for him so it could free Reed and Bowers up to make plays and vice versa.  We lost by two on the road to a one loss, Tubby Smith coached team.  Being as shitty as we have been for the past eleventy years, I will take that lump.  This years team would beat last years team by 20, we will get there.

Watched it totally agree were a lot of bullshit calls, still trying to figure out how you can call a timeout while the ball is in the air (in process of being a turnover).  Still we had chances and couldn't get anything to drop.

It was like watching two retards try to hump a doorknob.

I thought we have played pretty good D all year.  We hustle, we get after it and I have yet to see us quit.   Even during the ass whipping that Colorado gave us.  They never quit hustling and playing.  A Lebo or Barbee coached team would have given up last night and lost by 15.
