Title: Muse
Post by: Tiger Wench on January 12, 2010, 03:06:31 PM
Do any of you weird music people listen to Muse?  They sound like a combination of U2, the Violent Femmes and Queen.  Makes you want to drive very fast with all the windows down and the speakers pounding.   I just downloaded Black Holes & Revelations and it is pretty good.  Very different, but I think I like it.

My wife loves them, we watched them live on the Palladim Mtv/Vh1 channel. The music is very catchy reminds me of Coldplay.

Right when I was giving them a chance, they tried to cover a Lightning Bolt song.  No one can cover Lightning Bolt, and The Muse definitely puked on a great song.

I freaking love Uprising, and just happened to catch them on Palladia last night.  They are pretty good, and your description is pretty accurate, TW.

To be honest, I found them because Supermassive Black Hole is on the Twilight soundtrack.  But I went to iTunes and downloaded some of their other stuff.  I like Uprising too.

They always reminded me of a heavier, more prog-rock Radiohead.

I liked Black Holes And Revolations & Origin of Symmetry. Absolution had some good songs on it too.

Great band.  I've downloaded their stuff.  Knights of Cydonia was the first song I'd heard from them.  Off of one of the Guitar Hero games.

Their guitar solos are great.  Good harmonies too.

Muse?  Wasn't that Tater Tot Bowden's favorite band that used to play at Denaro's?

I saw Muse in concert back in October at the Dome. They opened for U2. They are definitely different but they jam out in a weird way. Uprising is a cool tune. Takes some getting used to. It surprised how long they have been around.

As for U2 - it was not their best performance. I think Bono was sick, dude sounded like a chicken with laryngitis. But the Edge was definitely on his A Game. Their new CD was chitty.

AWK is my muse.

So all of your artistic works wind up focusing on Miley Cyrus and Kesha?

I'd rather get stabbed in the throat with a flaming pitchfork, than have to listen to that Ke$ha bullshit.   That's hands down some of the most obnoxiously annoying shit I've heard in a LONG fuckin' time.

Carry on....
