Title: Suggestions for new members (and improvements)
Post by: Tiger Six on September 14, 2007, 09:00:54 AM
As far as new members, I invited Lurking Tiger.  Don't like it.  Fuck you, I named this place, so I get at least one free invite.

I would also suggest abrnfanatc (Scott Stewart), otterinbham (Chris Something), and a few others from aunation that escape me right now.

As far as suggestion for the site, I think that the forums should have catchy names.  For example, "General Discussion" could be changed to "On The Concourse", "Sports" becomes "The Tiger's Den" or "The Eagle Cage", "Hotties" could be "Girls of the SEC" (ok, that one was bad.)

Make it so.  Be creative.

I agree with the catchy names but don't make them any of those.  Randall will be wanting more free invites.

Also, can we get rid of the gay karma thing?  That, or I had better never see anyone with a positive number.

That was the downfall of the original woopig.  That and a few out of control egomaniacs.

My suggestion is to name the different forums after buildings or places on campus, such as:

General Forums:  Samford Hall, Foy, or Haley Center
Football Forum:  Jordan-Hare Stadium (or Pat Dye Field, perhaps?)
Chicks:  The Concourse

and so on.

God damn your fuckin demanding...who let him in here.

We are not naming the forums those names what are you David...I'll come up with something, with the help of my consigliare.

Hey Howard how do you like this one  :deuce: I made it?

Also, I think we shouldn't name them after prominent buildings on campus.  We're more of the outcasts at this point.

One has to be named Funchess Hall.  I demand it.

First of all fucker that was aimed at Randall so  :s&m:...second I didn't come up with ohnaggers, I didn't want that to begin with, and you can confirm that with Howard.

Can you add a "Go to Bottom of Page" button at the top of each page and the reverse at the bottom of the page ?

It's hard enough reading everyone's bullshit the first time through.

No, just throwing them out there for general discussion.  Which one?  otter?  I find him to be intelligent and funny.  Don't always agree with him, but then again, I do not subscribe to your support of same sex marriage.

Don't beat around the bush.  Tell me what problems you have with him.

Yeha by the way, why the fuck am I not an admin? I thought I was amongst friends. Pretty much everyone of us charter membes should get to be admins. At the very least all of us that were directly involved in planning the AUNation Coup. Which means everyone that was at Blue Monkey that night + Brian. By the way, where the hell's Jumbo?

No seriously, who the fuck are you, you're the only one on here I don't know.
As for the names of the forums, I hate to say this but I like Randall's idea. I also like OINKX's music upload forum. We need one of those. We could call it Goodwin. And the realtime thing is superbly pimp-ass.

I don't really care for otter. I think he's a pompous, arrogant, egotistical asshole. He reminds me of my ex-wife in that when he speaks he tries to overpower a conversation by first trying to insult everyone's intelligence and then when you don't agree with him he tells you how much smarter he is than you because he's read hundreds of books, had dinner with numerous Army colonels, owns a sailboat and is a member of an up and up Bham country club. I think half of what he says on AUN outside the sports forums is a bunch of bullshit. He's got a story for everything and he's one of those that no matter what story you have he's got one that's 10 times better. I read enough of his shit on AUN... I'm really not in the mood to read it here. Not to mention he's wishy washy as fuck.

I don't know about the music Chad, I only have so much HD space and bandwith.

Which is why we need more. Everyone that stupidly wastes their money in AUNation "stock" should put it here instead.
And we should probably find a way to tastefully run ads for cool stuff like liquor and porn.

Chad based on how you have "owned" another music thread on another board a 5.25" floppy disc worth of space should be enough for you.

Yeah I talked shit then realized a few things.
1) They bitched that it wasn't in their preferred format.
2) I am generally not interested enough in the board to ever visit it.
3) I also don't give a fuck about those people.
So I'd be much more helpful here.

I think everyone is thinking along those lines but there are still bugs being worked out of this place so let's make sure we got all the basics covered first.

What does Chad have against the Razorbacks?
Nothing in particular. I sure as hell wish them the best of luck this weekend (which reminds me, I should make my rare appearance at ONKX when I get home today). It's just that I'm generally not interested in their conversations about Arkansas inside jokes I don't get or care to.
And if you're referencing my hesitance to let some in here, I was referring to the ground rules we discussed on ohnaggers for who was invited. It was suggested that one requirement be that they bleed orange & blue. I tend to agree mainly just because I want to bitch about the team without showing weakness, discuss sensitive info like if one of our players got in trouble, etc. I don't paricularly opose the few razorbacks suggested, but I'm wary of the slippery slope.

Back to suggestions.
1) Is there a way to expand the number of posts per page like you can bring it up to 40 on AUNation?
2) Minor cosmetic issue, but could we get a favicon in the address bar like AUNation has the little American Flag? I only ask because I have all my favorites in my firefox toolbar with the favicons only showing.

Chad in regards to your site requests i'll check into them...not sure if I can do any of them.

In regards to Oinxx...the only thing I didn't care for was their layout, I found it somewhat annoying to get around in there.

You know I guess you really forget that everyone is used to different formats.  I always thought OINKX was real easy to get around on and set up pretty clean overall.
