Why does an 80 gig ipod cost $100 less than a 160 gig ipod when, according to the product description on amazon, they have the same capacity for music and video playback from a time standpoint?
Clarity?
Resolution of the screen?
I don't get it.

I confess to being an idiot too.
I can't make the stupid music thing work. Almost every time I update my iPhone, I wipe out all my music.
I keep the music on an external drive. I don't WANT the damn thing to update the music every time because I don't WANT to have to carry all that music luggage on my freaking laptop. But I need to sync my contacts, etc. at least every other day or so. And the laptop makes a convenient way to charge the phone.
Tell me how to keep it from wiping out my damn music.

the 160 gig has twice the storage.

I understand the concept.
Then why are the products both decribed as having 30 hour capacity for music and 5 hours for video?

Dude, there's not THAT many KISS songs.

I think that is playback capacity. ie. before the battery goes dead. Not raw storage capacity.

That makes more sense.
Thanks.

1. Plug in your iPhone.
2. Click on your iPhone under the "Devices" section on the left side menu.
3. Click on music on the top menu
4. Uncheck sync music
It won't sync the music anymore when you plug in the iphone but it will sync everything else. If the music is already not on there...click sync music, while the external drive is plugged in and click sync. While the iPhone is STILL connected, unclick sync music. All your music will be on the iphone, but next time you connect it, it won't automatically sync.

Looks like we have ourselves a regular Steve Jobs over here.

What the fuck is an iPod? Can I play LP records on it?

When I plug the damn thing in, it starts syncing on its own. When I try to stop it, it butt rapes everything -- pictures, music, all of it.

Yeah the when u plug it in before u change anything it will sync everything. If it takes off all of your songs, leave it plugged in and them attach your external. Go to the bottom right corner and click sync. It should then sync everything (including your music) then before you unplug the iphone, uncheck sync music. The NEXT time you sync it, it should leave your songs alone.

Yeah. It was abused as a child so now it's an abuser. The cycle continues.

Ok, I need opinions.
I am going to buy an mp3 player of some type for my upcoming vacation. Do I need to come off the pocketbook and buy an ipod or will I be happy with a Sansa or some other "off-brand"?
I'll hang up an dgo hang myself.
Thanks in advance,

My only experience has been with my Ipod Nano. It's great in my opinion. There is a raging debate on Oinkx about this. There seem to be some acceptable alternatives available.

I'm too lazy to find it for you.

I submit that I am much lazier than you.
Was it the one that discussed Zunes and jesus had a problem with a stolen ipod shuffle?
If so, I wasn't too lazy to find it. The search features actually helped me find something for once.
But I am still much lazier than you will ever be.
