Unfortunately, yes. Auburn fans typically do not care about basketball, because historically, we suck.
We'll only fill it up when we have a good three season run every 15 years or so.

Did you check out the attendance for last night's game?
It isn't going to be the biggest, but it will be one of the nicest. Hell, for $92MM, the court should be made with wood from the Mayflower.

Not that I doubted you on the capacity of Cameron Indoor Stadium, but I did Google it and was amazed that it only held 9300 or so. Filling an arena to it's capacity is definitely more important than just having a huge capacity.
I sure hope the Razorbacks get back to filling our huge arena. I think Pelphrey will get it done.

I agree. It is much more important for the arena to "feel crowded" and for the players to feel like the crowd is right on top of them...as opposed to the huge open environment that is our current facility.

The great thing about BWA is that the seats are stacked. It's got a small feel for a 20,000 seat arena.
I bet there's plenty of people at Duke that wishes they had twice the tickets to sell.

Well, Auburn had the chance to hire the same architects that designed Bud Walton, but they whiffed and got someone who has a fraction of the experience in collegiate basketball facilities. In the end, I expect that $92M will be spent on a $65-70M building. It will still be nice, but what could have been......
