The photo above tells the story of a miserable Monday evening in Piscataway, N.J., for Auburn's women's basketball team.

The second-seeded Tigers lost to seventh-seeded Rutgers 80-52. It certainly didn't help that the game was played on Rutgers' home court, but Auburn's play was so uncharacteristically abysmal that the location probably didn't matter.

The Scarlet Knights jumped out to leads of 9-0 and 18-4. Auburn closed the gap to 10 in the second half, but couldn't get any closer.

It was an unfortunate way for Auburn's quartet of seniors to end their careers. The Tigers will miss DeWanna Bonner, Whitney Boddie, Sherell Hobbs and Trevesha Jackson next season.

Although there are some promising younger players on the roster, 2009-2010 will be a rebuilding season in many ways. Time will tell whether this was a one-year blip or Auburn is back on the national women's basketball landscape for good.
