Title: Muschamp
Post by: wesfau on December 07, 2007, 11:36:56 AM
So the Hogs seem to think that there is some serious movement to get Muschamp as their HC.  I think we all knew he'd be leaving sooner rather than later.

So....who do you want to replace him?

I hope you have the same sources at SupperClub...

Seriously though, I want Muschamp to get a head job somewhere...he deserves it. But I hope it is after 2009. Two more seasons! Thats a dream though...he's gone after next year.

Nobody?  OK, I'll throw some names out:

John Tenuta
Tyrone Nix

Is anyone currently on the staff ready for a promotion?

That makes sense, he was tied to Lester in the Meeeeeechigan rumors.

Personally, I would have preferred Muschamp over Petrino.  Probably also would have saved some money.

Yeah, we're all pretty stoked about having Muschamp back for another season.  I think he'll definitely be gone after next year, though.

I'm not sure Muschamp is ready to be a head coach at a big name school. He probably knows it too. He's not far from being ready, but he is still young and kind of emotional. I think he needs another season or two under Tuberville and then he'll be ready for being head coach at Arkansas, West Virginia, or Tennessee type of program. I get the impression he wants to take over at an established SEC-type program instead of building a program from scratch.

As of now, I don't think there are many Auburn fans who would find fault with Muschamp being named Tuberville's successor a la Fisher at FSU. However, I'm not sure how long Tuberville still wants to coach or how long Muschamp would wait.

Quite possible the Arkansas job may be open again in 2 or 3 years. :big:
