Shivers is really the only one that remotely hurts. Kid was a baller and worked his tail off. Just didn't have vertical talent in size. Vandy also just lost 2 Former Four Star defensive players to the portal.
On another note, Gus' Stud QB at UCF - Dillon Gabriel - hit the portal yesterday and word on da skreets is he's heading to the Lane Train. Smart kid indeed. Sounds like he figured out Gus in short order, before we even did. He went from one of the worst passing systems to one of the best in 24 hours. Well played kid.

Hate to lose Shivers, mainly because he played about 3 times his actual size. Kid had desire and heart...you don't find that as often as you used to anymore.
Figured Canion was gone when he didn't make the traveling squad to see the all important white out.
If Johnson couldn't crack the 3 deep on the DL this season, probably best he makes a spot for another transfer there.

2019: 55 carries for 286 yards
2020: 62 carries for 276 yards (10 receptions)
2021: 14 carries 87 yards (22 receptions)
Basically, Bobo relegated Shivers to the swing pass guy. And if you noticed, there wasn't a lot of that going on the last few games. It had become similar to Malzahn, in that whenever Shivers (Devan Barrett) came in, that's the only thing he's in the game for. Hope he gets a chance to light it up somewhere.

Basically, Bobo relegated Shivers to the swing pass guy. And if you noticed, there wasn't a lot of that going on the last few games. It had become similar to Malzahn, in that whenever Shivers (Devan Barrett) came in, that's the only thing he's in the game for. Hope he gets a chance to light it up somewhere.
He is (ironically) the only back on the roster that had the top end speed to turn that edge consistently against Bama and was used NONE in that regard.

I am thinking back. I know, the booze and drugs causing memory loss makes that dangerous, but I can't recall Shivers doing much other than having like 4 or 5 amazing plays 3 years ago or so.

Kind of beat bammer with one play 2 years ago. And had flashes every 3rd game or so. Amazing speed.

Yessir. His stock is about as high as it can get right now. I'd figure him as a 3rd or 4th round pick mainly because he's a little undersized for the NFL.

Be foolish to leave now unless Harsin has for some dumbshit reason urged the kid to move on.
He was showing obvious signs of improvement with some rudimentary...some might say Bobo...coaching. Two more years and he owns all the QB records at AU and works his way into the top 3 rounds, minimum.

There is a rumor floating around that Pat is in the running for the Troy HC job and that Bo would follow him. I doubt Bo would follow him and I also doubt that Pat gets hired for the job. Jon Sumrall would be my guess.

On Thursday mornings during foosballz season, our local sports talk show has Bryan Matthews from Rivals, on to talk Auburn pigskin and other goings ons. So, the host asks him about the portal and specifically, the rumors about Bo possibly leaving. Matthews didn't have any inside 411, but I was stunned to hear him say in a very matter of fact way, "Yeah, it would be best if Bo just went ahead and transferred out to a smaller school. He's had 3 years at Auburn and he needs to finish up somewhere else."
Then, the host asked him if he thought that would automatically make Finley the #1 guy at QB. "No, they would definitely look at the portal for a starting quarterback."
Probably just one man's opinion, because I'm a firm believer that the majority of these reporters, journalists, bloggers etc. don't know jack shit. But what if he does?

I agree with you but at the same time he could have laid the rumors to rest if he’s being serious.

I'd lean more towards him being honest about not knowing what he's going to do. If the guy will call Bama out in the press for getting all the calls, he probably doesn't mince words.
