Title: AU v TAMU By The Numbers
Post by: wesfau2 on November 03, 2021, 12:15:18 PM
Scoring Offense: AU 25th   TAMU 57th
Rushing Offense: AU 35th   TAMU 41st
Passing Offense: AU 47th   TAMU 93rd
Total Offense:    AU 27th   TAMU 70th

Scoring Defense: AU 23rd   TAMU 4th
Rushing Defense: AU 37th  TAMU 38th
Passing Defense: AU 69th   TAMU 30th
Total Defense:    AU 51st  TAMU 28th

The interesting thing is that when you split the stats to only their home games, A&M's defensive stats get...worse.  Especially their scoring defense...it falls to 30th.  Anti-homefield advantage?

Their offense performs slightly better at home.

Taking out non-conference games, the stats look thusly:

Scoring Offense: AU 72nd     TAMU 42nd
Rushing Offense: AU 89th     TAMU 42nd
Passing Offense: AU 26th     TAMU 101st
Total Offense: AU  51st      TAMU  81st

Scoring Defense: AU 43rd    TAMU 38th
Rushing Defense: AU 62nd   TAMU  18th
Passing Defense: AU 101st   TAMU  102nd
Total Defense: AU 89th         TAMU   56th

A&M's SEC schedule: Ark (L), MsSt (L), Bama (W), USCe (W), and Mizzou (W)
AU's SEC schedule: LSU (W), UGA (L), Ark (W), OM (W)

Looks like our weaknesses match theirs and vice versa.  Bobo and company are gonna have to get creative in the RZ and maybe create a few big plays outside to get points in this one.

Their TE could be the difference in this one though, I fear.  Hopefully we have figured out that the guys with numbers in teh 80s can actually go out on routes.

That dude is frightening.

If he bothers you, I'll take care of him. What you've got to do is cut the hamstring on the back of his leg right at the bottom. He'll never play football again, because his weight displacement goes back, all his weight is on his right foot, and he'll push everything off to the right. He'll never come through on anything. He'll quit the game.

Bodini will prove to be the answer inside the RZ. Just saying.

20-3 only numbers that matter.

Others have posted it, I'll agree, we got our stuff pushed in sideways along the line of scrimmage. This season, when we play a team with solid DL play, we screwed. That needs to get fixed or it wouldn't matter if we had Patrick Mahomes back there.

Should be noted that Council didn't play last weekend.

Mahomes?  Isn't he that actor from State Farm commercials?  I think I'd rather give Jake a shot than that guy.
