Damn it man, we're getting better every week. That's the goal.

I also have it on great authority that we really feel good about the direction our team is heading.

We didn't practice Sunday and today (they usually get Monday off)...I wonder if the top tier programs only practice a couple times a week.

Do we really have to practice being shitty?

Yes if we intend to perfect it.

To the newer, more extravagant farm I’ll win

I know the reality is this makes no difference. While our D has had it's own issues the last couple of weeks, it's pretty clear that had our offense just made a couple of plays in each of the losses, we'd probably be undefeated right now. But whatev….
The line probably jumped up to 4.5 because Ole Miss receiver DK Metcalf is now out for the season. 6'4" 230 and a freakin' beast. This guy will play many Sunday games.

The Malzahn's have quite a retirement spread just sitting there. They might see fit to let you work it.

That and...Malzahn stated that the offense will have a few new wrinkles. I'm guessing Willis will see more playing time as the offense needs a real mobile QB to run away from any resemblance of a pass rush.

Here's a wrinkle. How about we let Flash line up on the right side a time or two huh? Huh?

Seriously, every one of us knows this. We've discussed it ad nauseam and even without nauseam.
Just practice the routes on the Chris Todd highlight film and put our better personnel than theirs to work in open spaces and turn the ball loose!
We can script this shit and be successful without overthinking it.
Defenses haven't changed that much in 9 years.
Know it's not THAT simple but Gus won't change. Just rigid in his thinking.

If you use Willis in the same offense Nick Marshall ran, I think it could be effective in spots. You'd have to run things quicker and the speed sweep would have to be an option on 90% of the plays, like it was under Cam and Marshall. They only either fake or run it maybe 20% of the time now. Malzahn's bread and butter, the quick runs between the tackles, which is supposed to set up everything else, has become very slow developing. No way to compare Stidham to Marshall, but since there's very little threat of JS running, it appears he holds the ball out there longer and let's the back look at things developing in front of him. Just my arm chair observation.
Marshall became a master at eyeing the defense and knowing when to hit the speed sweep, hand off or keep it. And it happened damn fast. Willis could possibly get us into a lot of those situations, but they would have to tweak the offense to focus more on the read option. And quite frankly, it might help this line to know that there's nothing cute going on. They're hammering the guy in front of them.

For everyone calling for more PT for Willis, understand what you are saying. Any team gets between 7-9, maybe 10 possessions a game. You want the coaching staff to gameplan for one or more of those possessions to be built around a player with a vastly different skill set than the regular starter. They get 20 hours a week to practice and install. It's asking a lot.
-
It might work a time or two against the Ackbars and Liberty.
It's also much more effective if you are a threat to throw...as is the wildcat.

This.
Package work is one thing; that can work in the flow of the game. (And let's be honest, this offense has lacked flow all season.) But replacing a guy for another guy every three series or so is sure to lead to more inconsistency.

In reality this team can't handle failure, can't bounce back and the coaches aren't helping. Was thinking back to the very makable but missed FG against LSU where it seemed to start. And it's so much worse now.

Leadership, or the lack thereof, can kill a team.
-
Deshaun Davis has been keeping the defense chemistry somewhat close.
Who has stepped up on offense to lead this team?
Stidham? Lololololol
The OL?
Chandler Cox?

You're acting if Gus has multiple playbooks.

Coarch Beaulieu done took his green playbook.

In order to be a threat to throw one must first be a threat to block.

In their (OL) defense Stidham misses wrs just as good when he has ample blocking, as when he’s under pressure.

I blame our QB whisperer. Stidham went from very accurate to erratic.
With proper alignment I think he might be road worthy again.

I'm expecting to see more Coxcat or Cock-a-Doodle Do packages this weekend...new wrinkles. Ole Miss will be mystified and terrified for a few plays, then they'll shut it down with their DT. They'll probably shut it down on the first attempt, but whatever. We just need to score more points, you know, do gooder than we have, it's coming together.

New wrinkles? We need a facelift.

The offense looked a good bit better. Boobie ran for 170 before pulling a hammy. Hope it's not too bad. Glad he's got an extra week to heal. Stidham looked pretty sharp overall and placed a few balls that the defenders made great plays on, one a potential TD to Schwartz and another long one to Slayton. Not bad play calling overall.
I know some will say this was a shitty defense, and they are. But have we not played shitty defenses already?

Alabama State had a pretty terrible defense.
There for a while, the Auburn offense would look like shit against air.
