Mother FUCK.
She has an iPad, new Christmas 2016. She has a Samsung SmartTV, new July 2017.
How in the screeching rainbow-colored FUCK do I get what's on the iPad to show on the TV without hooking the motherfucking thing up to a motherfucking fucking fuckity wire.
I've downloaded four different apps (two were $) and they don't.fucking.work.at.fucking.all.
What the hell? Do I need some kind of apple fucking stick to jam in the TV? I've spent four hours on this today. All I want to do is watch SEC baseball games on her motherfucking TV and not on the motherfucking iPad.
please help. I am not usually in a rage in reality, but this is making me want to destroy small things.

You'll need either a google chromecast or Apple TV to do "casting" or "mirroring".
That device (above) hooks to your wireless router and so does the iPad (or whatever you are trying to stream from) That's how it does it. The wireless router is the key. I'll send you a few screenshots offline.

I'm not sure if this is a old post, because my posts dates aren't showing up...but on your iPad swipe up, while the video is playing, until you see Control Center and tap AirPlay Mirroring. That might work.

Pretty much what I sent him. But he's gotta have a casting receiver to do so i.e. Apple TV.
I do question how roku hasn't gotten on board with this.
And we can all thank wiregrass for All things that go wrong on here. He causes it with his ties to vlad and the gays.

Oh okay, I figured the smart tv would be able receive it regardless of make. I don't own a smart tv yet...or a 4k. I feel like a caveman when it comes to new technology that seemingly comes out every month.

First you don't have to airplay most stuff. Because most apps like WATCHESPN you can download direct to the AppleTV.
However anything you can play on your ipad you can just airplay to the apple TV. I use it to watch most of my movies, because you can also download apps like HBOGo and Starz because DirecTV's ondemand sucks. You can also get an app called Air Video HD you install the software on your PC then download the app to apple TV. Any movie or show downloaded in any format, you can stream from your computer to appletv

It's what I was telling you to get when you started the "my cable bill is too high" thread. It's a streaming device about the size of a hockey puck. As gf said you can use Netflix, espn, Hulu, sling whatever on it. Then you won't need to airplay/cast to it.

Yeah I have no idea how to do that through the tv. Never had one that did it. Just always used an Apple TV. The new Apple TV is supposed to be running iOS and can play any app that an iPad does. That's what I would do if I were K.

I've got a Samsung laptop. It bounces to the Samsung TV with virtually no effort at all. Same with my daughter's Samsung phone.
Apple pisses me off. They're being purposely difficult.

It's Samsung you are at the mercy of here not Apple. Your device has to speak the same language of whatever you are casting to.
