I need to wipe a MacBook, but know jack shit about their software.

Looking to reset to factory settings.

My daughter's friend dropped hers in the swimming pool.

If you don't have a pool, you should probably ask your pal Hillary where she keeps the hammers and bleach.

(Seriously?  Depending on the OS, there is probably a utility built in that will allow you to perform a sufficient data removal.  I think it's as easy as opening the disk utilities menu and then picking the drive and level of destruction.  That gets data.  If you want to nuke it back to the way it came out of the box, there's a little more involved.  This is a good start:  http://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/mac/how-reset-mac-factory-settings-3494564/)
